Zach Witte- Any Hawk interest?

I have to say I was very impressed with how this kid looked at state last year going unbeaten and knocking off much talked about Moreno in the finals at 145. He looks to be very strong and explosive but also moves very well. He was runner up as a freshman, probably the second or third best guy as a Soph. but lost to Gustavo Martinez at districts who then lost to Caldwell, Caldwell and Martinez then finished 1st and 2nd at state. He could end up a 3x finalist and 2X champ. I think he is very underated due to not doing freestyle. 149 is a weight we could use another guy at and he looks like a 149 guy to me. Would be a good fit sitting a couple years behind Jake Ballweg.

Iowa is definitely interested in signing another guy for 149 partially as insurance for Carew's knees. They did sign Grothus last year as well.

Witte is definitley an interesting prospect and I really like the kid too. There is some interest there from the Hawks but to what extent we'll see. I don't think that anything will happen until after the season but he could definitely be one of those later signed kids for the Hawks.
