Would you want Ben Jacobsen as the head coach of Iowa?

UNI is currently beating Kansas and some sources say Jacobson is the right guy for Iowa if he is offered. Would you be excited/happy with Jacobson as our new coach?

I greatly respect the man and what he has done but regardless of what he and UNI do the tourney I wouldn't like this hire because his name, style of play, recruiting and conference experience will remain the same regardless. This situation would be much like Lickliter's situation. I would think Ben would see what is happening with Mac and what Lick went through and maybe not be interested anyway.

I would take him in a heartbeat if none of the other "big names" (i.e. Drew, Dixon, etc) were interested.
 
I would be, as I think he is a heck of a coach and recruiter. But he lacks the big name sizzle that the fan base needs to bring them back to CHA. Barta has got to make a big splash with this hire to sell ticket and to get the donations flowing back in. I do not think Jacobson would make many donors happy.
 
I wouldn't. But I'm also a UNI fan and alum and want him to stay there and take that program further.
 
No matter the outcome in this game, his stock is skyrocketing. So It would be safe to say a lot of programs around the country are happy that Iowa Fans don't want him.. :)

Ben is one of the hottest names out there right now. UNI will have one heck of a time keeping him, especially if that Minnesota job opens up.
 
I wish there was an option other than Yes or No...

I think he is a great coach, so this part makes me want him. I'm not worried about him being a mid major coach. I'm just worried if he can recruit at this level. Iowa has to have a great recruiter.
 
No. They beat UNlv by 1, and won two games on 3's at the end. They played well with senior leadership. By the way, Lick made it to the sweet 16. Its not the flavor of the month. I saw UNI play Creighton in Omaha. The game put me to sleep.
 
I wouldn't come to Iowa if I was him. He'll get other offers from programs with less pressure. All i know is if he stays, UNI better give him a raise.
 
Be honest I'm shocked by the poll results.

Sure everyone is on Board with Barbee or Pastner or Forbes.. :)

I honestly think that Drew and Dixon don't wind up at Iowa..

One thing is sure Iowa Fans will be split on the next hire. So we might as well start the Hater clubs right now...

When you play 34 or 35 games a year. You will have that occasional sleeper game.. However when you have Lickliter running things it's a nightly thing..
