Go undefeated and be left out of the BCS title game, or have a one loss season and win your conference and be left wondering what might've been?

Kinda seems like a no brainer. I'll take undefeated over one loss any day. If were undefeated, we still win the conference and still going BCS.

Right but yo'd have the infuriation of being an undefeated Big 10 team being left out of the title game.

I chose the one loss option because I can't imagine the frustration of an Iowa team taking care of business in the non-conference schedule, then running the B10 guantlet without losing a game and still not doing enough to get into the BCS NCG. At 11-1 and wondering what might have been, we're still dancing in the BCS party.

We would always be able to say we went undefeated AND that we should be playing for the N.C. PLUS we would still be playing in a BCS game.
With one loss fans would be talking about oh if only we won that one game. IDK

12-0....we would have done everything we could have....the BCS quagmire suxx anyway...we need a true playoff.

I really can't fathom why anyone would rather go 11-1 than 12-0, because if you go 12-0, you've done everything you can. If the system is broken and we don't get our shot, so be it. We wouldn't be the first team that has happened to.

I personally would rather have an argument for how we should have been in the title game than to have lost a game and not even be in the discussion.

Considering how close we were to this scenario in 2002, I'd certainly have taken a win over ISU to be undefeated and still not make the NC game than have lost.

Undefeated every time.

undefeated. for obvious reasons stated above.

here's what you're arguing, having to deal with a loss during the season that we could have controlled, or going undefeated and complaining about something we have absolutely no control over.

why cause yourself the extra headache of a loss during the season?
