worst team in Big 10?

Gophers. Purdue has had a lot of injuries at key positions, and they had a pretty thin margin to begin with.

How Tim Brewster is still employed is beyond me.

Anybody know the history of Gopher football? How long ago they were mighty, and how they fell out of the rich men's club?

Gooophers lost all three non-conference home games to start the season. Stellar.

Going into the conference season it is looking pretty ugly for the Golden Gophers and Boilermakers, but I would give the edge to Minnesota as likely to be the worst. They just kicked Stoudemire off the team and hiring a temp coach, Mangino, in mid season is a tel-tale sign there are troubles in Gopherland. Purdue will win some conference games, I'm not sure Minnesota will.

Has to be the Gophers, mostly cause I watched that game last night and got to see them in all their awfulness. Offense looked out of sync and there was really no reason to have a defense on the field the couldn't stop anything.

The Gophers without a doubt. Just horrible. They bumped Illinois off the pedestal of horrid.

Now, I hope they win a few games down the stretch here (but not against Iowa, of course).

They need to win enough games to warrant keeping Brew Bear around a few more years. Tim Brewster is really good for Iowa Football! :D

Losing to the Cyclones in a bowl game will demoralize a team and its coach. I blame the Cyclones for the downfall of the mighty Gophers!

Easy. Gophers.

As much as we should hate our mostest hated rivals, Purdue, you have to remember that they have now lost their best WR, RB and QB for the season. Guy's can't seem to catch a break.

Minnesota on the other hand... yeesh...

Gophers.

I don't know about Purdue, but I live in MN and know quite a few people who are students that go to all of the rodents' games... and apparently every game this season they have chanted "Fire Brewster." In fact... I heard they didn't even chant "We hate Iowa" last game... Just the "Fire Brewster" chant.

That has to say something, because I've been told they chant that at least once a game or at least at the end of the game. (However, my sources did leave the game before it was over so it still might have happened.)

When a team gets a new stadium built for them (i.e. the Twins) they tend to go into that year with a bit of momentum and excitement, usually giving them a boost at home games... The gophers just lost to a bad team at home and the fans even started to cheer for the other team at the end of the game.

I am a bit biased I will admit, because even if Purdue is worse I would still say the Gophers.

Either way... GO HAWKS!

I can attest that any team with Cosgrove on it IS THE WORST TEAM IN AMERICA. And I include Pop Warner teams. My only regret in joining the Big Ten is joining a year late and NOT laying a couple of hundred points on that poor excuse of a coach.

I was wondering if Mangino just might stick around and take over once they cut Brew loose. At least he's shown he can win.
BUT...Minnesota is denying that he has been hired. They said he was on the sidelines as favor to his friend Brewster.
