Worse possible draws.

With Oregon, LaSalle, and FGCU in the Sweet 16, the Big draws Kansas, Duke, AZ, and Syracuse.

Just glad we could sneak a couple through.

I noticed that too. Maybe the committee's seedlings were more considered than it first appeared?

OMG this is dumb. It's a tournament, that how it works. Can't control Cinderellas. If Wisky could take care of business then they would be there. Oregon drew Louisville, hard to argue one of these big 10 teams should be over the number 1 over all seed. And FGCU was the ultimate cinderella, nothing you can do.

MSU and Indiana needed to take care of business, and they didn't. Michigan and Ohio State both should be final four. Not sure we could ask for much more. Indiana is the team that let the conference down more than anyone else.

Figured IN to lose to my eventual champ pick Syracuse. Thought MI would lose to KU but they actually have a backbone with Burke. OSU, figured that. MSU really got the seeding shaft. If they got past Duke, then they would have had to play Louisville. Both of those teams should have gotten 1 seeds instead of Gonzaga.

Talent wise the best team from the B1G is still alive with Michigan beating Kansas, Ohio State is lucky as heck. Biggest disappointment by far is Indiana, Crean should have had a better game plan against that zone. It was obvious Harris was playing hurt or MSU would have had a better showing against Duke, they had no answers for Curry.

I have no problem with the seeding, in the NCAA tournament to be the best you have to beat the best. B1G teams need to step up to the challenge, hopefully Ohio State and Michigan can keep it going.

MI always has talent. They seldom have a Burke. Even then, they got lucky, suddenly deciding late in the game that they really did want to advance and getting away with it.

But this thread is about seedings. OSU got the benefit of having a 1-seed in their draw that wasn't a 1-seed (Gonzaga), and a 3-seed that most definitely wasn't a 3-seed (N.Mex.).

MSU got shafted, not only by the seedings (2 real 1-seeds in their draw in Louisville and Duke), but by the way their game with Duke as called. All year MSU got the benefit of a game called allowing physical play, including their 1st two games in the the tournament, until Duke. Just say'in.

IN didn't get it done. But Syracuse was probably the worst team in the tourny for IN to match-up against with their length, athleticism, and experience. Think SY was under-seeded due to early injury. That match-up played directly against IN's short backcourt and relative inexperience. Another team as a 4-seed (say K-state or St. Louis) in their bracket and I think IN is still playing.

Yeah, teams have to win, but the seedings definitely affect how far they get. The committee didn't get it done. But we knew that already, didn't we.

We can complain about the seedings all day long but at the end of the day you have to beat the top teams to advance anyway. The B1G has been bragged as the #1 conference all year long, time for these teams to step up. There are a lot of teams/conferences that can complain about seedings, Oklahoma State got pitted against an underseeded Oregon. The entire Pac12 can complain about their seedings. Florida had to easy of a road, you can say Louisville had an easy path, ect ect.

We are starting to sound like clown fans with all this whining.

At this point, I'm figuring 2 B1G teams in the FF in OSU and MI. That will represent as the #1 conference. This despite the bad seedings. I think that's the conference stepping up against adversity.

Oh, I'm not complaining about the seedlings, just saying they came down bad for the B1G in the Sweet 16.

As I said in another post, this is why I didn't jump on the bash Barkley bandwagon, because I could see the B1G going O-for in the Sweet 16 and it only didn't happen by the skin of the conference's teeth.

I know teams have to suck it up and deal with it, but dude, the seedings were wrong. That affects the outcome. Don't know about you, but I'd like the best teams to be able to prove they can make it to the FF. Bad seedings get in the way of that.

The whole freaking tourney was wrong. This is partly a problem with the MWC jobbing the RPI.

The autopsy of this year's tourney will result in either a big change in the RPI, or it's dramatic lack of importance in the selecting and seeding process.

B1G will not be getting any Final 4 teams it looks like. I think Florida beats Michigan. The conference was really not that tough it appears

What's OSUs excuse?

That Wichitall team beat Iowa handily earlier this year. That means they are a top 5 team. I had them in the Elite 8 bince i knew they were better than Gonzaga, but I did not foresee tonight's game. That's the thing about the "mid majors" - sure there are some good teams and maybe even one that doesn't win its conference championship because they have a team like Creighton in their way. But the lunacy this year was how deep they went in some of those conferences.

Self-entitled. Actually glad they lost even though they're B1G and screws my bracket. Makes IA's loss to WSU look good too. What's the. RPI now?

Ya, what is the latest RPI? Are we going to make the "big dance"? Is it still possible to end up #1? Or are we RIP? If the right teams win we could end up #1 in Pompey's ratings.

We may not end up with the National Champ but that doesn't mean it wasn't the best conference and it most certainly was "that tough."
