Woodbury Gessell play tonight

was initially planning to make the game with a friend, but things came up...oh well. very good start to the year for Mike. Woodbury's been consistent, but nothing out of this world.
 
Gesell 25 pts w/ only 3 in second half...Woodbury with only 10 pts and fouled out with 36 seconds to play. Adam was double and triple teamed with every touched and other than East's guard who ended up with 25, he did not have any support to speak of to take the heat off. I felt the refs were not good and even the announcers said as much multiple times. That said, South Sioux will win their third state championship and will be LinnMar in Omaha when they play in my opinion. I had watched Mike play a couple of times before and his game has definitely gone from excellent. Not sure of what his full stats were but he rarely missed no matter what the distance, including a couple of professional range shots.

South Sioux has a second guard that also had 20+ points and so when East doubled Mike, the other guard stepped up and made East pay. East again, just did not have that second outside person step up and that was the difference in the game along with Woodbury being mugged with every touch. The final foul was a perfect example. Adam goes up for the rebound on a foul shot and comes down on the South Sioux player after being under cut, Adam lands on him and is called for the foul...83-71 final

Fran was in the house tonight and was interviewed at the half.
