Womens Basketball

If the question is still "Who's the Iowa womens BBall coach for the forseable future" then yes.

Not sure how much is Bluders fault. A lot of cold shooting for Printy to date (currently 30% on 3's), plus until recently Logic was the top rebounder. As usual, injuries have hit hard: Draxten-career ended due to back trouble; Rogers-out for season; Considine-out for season; Taylor-only plays a few minutes per game & still looks tentative; Nesbitt-missed first part of season and plays little; V Johnson-just now back from concussion and had played very little pre-injury. If M Johnsons knees give out it will be a long season.

I think she is doing fine. There's bound to be a slight setback after graduating the best player in the program's history. At least she signed the #2 ranked PG in the class to help fill the void. In fact, she has a pretty dang good recruiting class overall. With some of the young talent on the roster, some solid seasons are ahead.

Way too unathletic which is the case every year. They are a middle of the pack team in a conference which is very weak year in and year out. The ACC, SEC and Big 12 are always better than the B1G and for that matter so is the Pac 12 and Big East, and we still can't compete for championships with the top of our conference. I don't see her getting fired, but there will never be any interest in women's basketball at Iowa with this level of performance year in and year out.

I agree! Every year it seems that her team has a boat load of injuries. I cant figure out if these girls are just badly out of shape or is there something going on with their training regimen.

I don't know about unathletic, but I'd agree that our roster isn't as well suited for today's power game as some others. For example, Wahlin is great in transition where she can find holes in the defense, but has problems when she gets matched up with a big, physical aggressive guard in a half court game. Our rebounding has fallen off without Alexander, so fewer transition opportunities. If Taylor had two healthy knees, things might be different.

Slow white girls will lose to quicker players most of the time. We only win when our white girls are taller than another team of slow girls.

The big problem is the offense is too heavily reliant on three-point shooting. The past couple years, that's been okay. Printy and Wahlin were consistent threats from deep, and we had Johnson and Kach to clean the glass, plus Kach gave us the slasher to balance things out. This year, Printy especially has been cold from behind the arc, and Wahlin hasn't been lights out either. We have one true post player who's really ready to play in the Big Ten, and that's just not enough. The best teams typically have at least two players like that. If Johnson gets in foul trouble, we're nearly always screwed.

And Adam: Kach was a very good player, but to call her the best in the program's history is to sell WOEFULLY short everything Stringer did here. There were players back then who were far better than anyone we've had in the last 6-7 years. That's how good Iowa women's basketball was; letting Stringer get away was one of the worst mistakes Bowlsby ever made.
