If this guy was easily swayed in to not pressing charges against Sandusky who knows what other shady people this guy had deals with in all walks of criminal activity.

VERY incomplete story. He was also involved in several mob-type cases that had nothing to do with this case.

Of course, since the surname of the recently-ousted PSU head coach is of Italian origin, I am sure the conspiracy theorists on this board will have a field day.

Never mentioned the PSU scandal. Point was that Gricar worked numerous "mob" cases over his career.

OTOH, Reading a 23-page grand jury report with NO defense witnesses or legal representation should answer ever question. Just ask Jose Baez.

Gricar may very will have disappeared in connection with this. But, at the time of his disappearance, there was ZERO speculation about it relating to the 1998 Sandusky situation.

Well than obviously they haven't been as thourough as they need to be, because it appears as though they have zero arrests at this point.

I have no problem believing his disappearance could be mob-related. I DO have a problem believing the mob would protect a child rapist.

It could be mob related. Also, I heard or read something (can't remember where) that at the time of Gricar's disappearance, he was also working on several drug cases (herion). His disappearance could be related to that too.

I'll bet it's safe to say that more than a few new prying eyes will be looking into these for any correlation. I agree with HawkBob that this guy probably didn't get whacked by the mob just to protect a child molester. But sometimes there are convenient coincidences to utilize for timing of such things. Also, who knows where that money was going? It may not have all been going to PSU.

True. OTOH, very likely the circle of donors to Sandusky's charity and Penn State athletics in general could include some powerful and wealthy folks who would have no problem arranging for the disappearance of a prosecutor who was getting too close to exposing their sick, twisted pedophile activity. Or his extra-curricular recruitment of talented, disadvantaged athletes into the PSU program.
