Not to mention Mr. Davis didn't recruit when he was at Iowa. WHO IN THE HELL DO YOU THINK WAS RECRUITING THOSE PLAYERS AT DRAKE?

True. But I think everyone agrees that it'll take more than the current roster to win... I think people have accepted that. It's what he can do with the current roster (including commits) and add to it, that'll be judged.
I think the next coach needs to have the same stones as a guy like Calipari or a Huggins, when it comes to players.
Basically, we need a guy who is going to be able to come in and look at the current roster and get rid of guys that don't belong at this level, like Huggs did with Bawinkle, and be able to bring guys in immediately.
Don't hire a coach who has to win with someone else's players. Bring in a guy who has the clout to bring in his own players.

Exactly. Even if the new guy can win with Lick's players (and that might be a stretch), what happens when those guys are gone? The new coach has to be able to stay above water once he has his own players. IMO, we need a guy that is a good enough recruiter to bring in talent far better than we currently have.
