Wisconsin should be ******

Wisconsin has 2 losses...#2 Alabama and #5 Iowa. They are ranked #25, same as last week, and got jumped by 4 teams this week....including a couple 3-loss teams. How does that make sense?

I would be furious if I was a vadger fan

They haven't beat anyone

Agreed. It really is odd.

Ole Miss, Oregon and USC jump Wisky. Well part of the problem for wisky is there easy schedule now. I think Minnesota is seen as a pretty tough team that did not affect Iowa's SOS after Minny played Mich and OSU tough.

Wisky plays Northwestern and Minny the next two weeks so Wiskys SOS will get stronger or they might lose. Main thing is Iowa still needs to totally focus on Purdue, win that game and stay a solid #5.

Simple answer: MT HN PIRM

Miami (OH), Troy, Hawaii, Nebraska, Purdue, Illinois, Rutgers, Maryland

Those are Wisconsin's wins this year. In the two challenging games they've had, they've lost. In the one mediocrely challenging game they've had (Nebraska), they needed a fluke to barely get out of Lincoln with a win.

Makes sense to me.

Again remind me who #10 baylor has beaten

Yeah that's not the point though.

Baylor made it really high into the rankings by winning all of their games before last week, so they were already high to begin with. They lost to a one loss team, which wouldn't move them down that much in the rankings...

What, you think Baylor should drop double digits for losing to Oklahoma?

I don't see the problem here

My point is you can't say wisconsin hasn't beaten anyone and then defend baylor for being #10. If anything you can't defend wisconsin getting jumped this week by 3 loss teams.

That's a good point. proves that SOS doesn't mean much, unless you win.

Ole miss being ranked is odd. The committee ignoring losses because they happened a while ago is stupid.

I'm not defending Baylor for being number 10, I think they should be lower.

What I'm saying is that they were HIGHER TO BEGIN WITH.

i.e. Baylor starting the year 8-0 moved them into the #6 spot

They played Oklahoma who was 8-1

It's been a thing since the beginning of recorded history where teams who play other teams who are higher in the rankings don't move down very much when they lose

You see it in college basketball. If you're ranked and play Duke then you probably don't fall more than 1 or 2 rankings if you lose. If you're ranked and lose to William & Mary you're F'd.

Wisconsin suffered a loss at the beginning of the year which prevented them from climbing high in the rankings

Then Iowa knocked them back out of the rankings, further debilitating their chances of climbing the rankings

I'm not defending the substantive part of Baylor's resume, but they're at #10 because of the way the rankings' procedure works

I hate this whole system. Picking 1 loss teams because they look good is just stupid. They thought Stanford was good look what happened. I hope North Carolina beats Clemson that would hurt them and ND.

I agree. Wiscy would easily beat about half the teams above them. Last I checked Sagarin has their SOS at 77th, which is ridiculous since they've played Alabama and Iowa. Okie State played only zero power 5 teams in non-conference and only 2 teams above .500 and SOS is much higher 58th.

Also, Sagarin has NW 42nd which is a complete joke. They are 8-2 and beat Stanford and Duke (losses to Iowa and Michigan).
