Wisconsin Over Rated?

You think? They've only played 2 teams with a pulse (Nebraska and MSU) and one of those was at home.

UNLV (at Madison) 1-5
Oregon State (at Madison) 2-5
Northern Ill (at Soldier Field) 5-3
South Dakota (at Madison) 5-3
Nebraska (at Madison) 6-1
Indiana (at Madison ) 1-7
MSU (away) 6-1

No doubt that Wilson is the real-deal, but even if they had won last night, their strength of schedule is a joke.

Thats kind of like saying the NC is over rated. Clearly they are the two best teams in the B10 right now, so #1 and #2 and it came down to a hail mary.

How are the clearly the best 2 teams in the big 10? Msu had their *** handed to them by 4-3 Notre dame and Wisconsin has played a softer schedule than coe college.

Overrated as one of the best teams in the country? yes. Overrated as one of the best teams in the Big 10? no.

The offense is legit but the defense isn't as good as it was last year (and it wasn't great last year)

Wisconsin's a pretty good football team and they played a very good defensive team without one of their starters. I think Wisky was hurt by the fact that they had played 6 straight AT HOME. When they faced some adversity, it took some time to work through it and they panicked a little.

Those were two pretty impressive drives to tie that game on the road when it counted. I don't like Bert B...but he has a very good team...just not National title stuff this year.

Every NC winner has a few close games they have to pull out...just to be clear.

OSTRICH

Their RB (Monte Ball) was taken out by a blow to the head with 11:00 remaining in the 2nd quarter. Wisky was up 14-9 at that point.
He came back with limited action in the 2nd half.

Lets see: On the road against the #1/#2 team in the conference. Check
Lose your starting RB for half of the game. Check
44 Yard hail-mary that bounces off the face mask, kid catches it, crosses the goal line by a freckle. Check

#1 ND has been very disappointing this year in terms of W/L, but they are not a bad team. #2 that game is a pretty long known rivalry game and we all know what can happen in those games.

Not playing devils advocate here, but if that loss at MSU in that fashion to MSU makes Wisconsin over-rated then what are the same people saying about Oklahoma?

Just curious, IMO it was a great game between two well balanced teams and one team had to lose. I wouldn't say Wisconsin was over-rated, but that MSU out played a very good team.

It's hard to talk about teams being overrated when you look around the country and only see 3-4 complete teams. Things can change, but LSU and Auburn are so far ahead of everyone right now it's silly. Oklahoma State and Kansas State still have to play each other and play Oklahoma. Stanford made Washington look silly, but the PAC-12 is really down and they didn't play anyone non-con. Clemson looks good right now but I think they're just the flavor of the month. I like Boise State but I get the hesitation with them, and they struggled with Air Force. Houston is in a bad conference. Then you start looking at the one-loss teams and they all either have mystifying losses (Oklahoma losing at home to Texas Tech; Michigan State getting blown out by Notre Dame) or huge tests left to face. Once you get past the first 4-5 teams, it really feels like you're just throwing darts, especially this year.

No they aren't over rated. They lost to a top 15team on the road on a last second play. The line between a top ten team and a team playing for the NC is often one play.

Wisky is not overrated. I found it remarkable that they were even tied with Sparty prior to the last play of the game considering they gave up a safety, missed a field goal, and had a block punt returned for a TD. Found it even more remarkable that Mich St did not have a single penalty for the entire game. (Numerous times it appeared their O-line was holding but not one penalty called)

FIFY... I know what you meant but couldn't help but laugh when you listed Auburn instead of Alabama.

I found this stat on rivals. Since 2001, Wisconsin's record against teams that have 0-3 losses is 3-20, 3 and ******* 20. This year is the same ol with Wisconsin.

I think Wisconsin is a top 10 caliber team. I think they'd beat MSU 3 of 5 @ MSU and probably 4 of 5 in Madison.

Alabama and LSU would destroy Wisconsin. They'd take Wisconsin's running game and shove it down their throats. Then they'd turn around and run down Wisconsin's throat.

LSU and Alabama are good, they also are being made to look better because the rest of the SEC is pretty bad this year. The entire SEC East is garbage now.
