Wirfs #3??

I would take this opportunity to fill out a large insurance policy citing the top 3 pick and then stay because who wants to go to the Dolphins unless you want to be a part of a losing organization for at least your rookie contract. It may be different if it was an organization that was rebuilding or had a down year/trade that got them the third pick but the Dolphins are inept. They have had 7 winning seasons in the last 20 years. Cmon Tristan you can do better :)

I'm sure he'll do well during the underwear part of the interview process... He's physically exactly what they all want at that position. He plays dominant here and there but then again he's not been perfect either. I would have graded Scherff higher I bet. But it'd be splitting hairs. Their both monsters that'll have 10 plus yrs in the league if they stay healthy.

I haven't watched enough one on one of Wirfs to see if he plays with the same chip that Scherff did. Combined with his strength and the chip he played with was pretty scary at times. Scherff for sure played to the whistle and never let the guy he was blocking rest. The punch Scherff lays on the Purdue linebacker blitzing in his highlight tape is unreal. It also seemed to me we saw Scherff get downfield more on blocking plays as well. Maybe that is just scheme change as well. It will be a tough decision for him, selfishly I hope he stays but ultimately I understand it either way.

Lets say Wirfs does go top 5 and Jackson stays. It is realistic to think that Jackson could also put himself into a top 5 position next year. Or if Wirfs stays and Jackson improves we could have two tackles in the top 10 which would be awesome.

I would be shocked if Jackson, Espensa or Wirfs stayed another year. All three are potential 1st rounders. Second round wouldn't be a complete surprise. Wirfs ranks below Jackson but his size is going to get him a lot of offers. He's a solid player. Not the stand out that Jackson is, but he's no slouch.

AJE could use another year to really get on his game. But even at this point he is a late first rounder, second rounder. Our only hope is his childhood love of the Hawkeyes.
