Winning the close ones

I've given this a lot of thought over the last few weeks and finally took the time tonight to check the roster...

My theory is that although we have a team of talented players, few of them have experienced winning at the championship level. I think only Clemmons and McCabe have state championships. When you pair this with the fact that many of them were not highly recruited, could there be something in their collective psyche that makes them think they are not good enough to win the big (close) games?

Speculation, I know. But that's what we do on these boards.

Gesell won a state title as a sophomore and junior at South Sioux City. Lost a close game in the finals as a senior.

No.

Thanks. His bio didn't show that. Or I skimmed over it.

I didn't see it in his bio, either. But I was sure I remembered he won at least one title, so I went to the Nebraska athletic association site and looked it up.
