WIN Magazine college preseason rankings

Because many think he's better and a shoe in to win the spot. PSU will be lucky to hang with us this year. They need Alton to not take a year off badly and they are lucky we didn't keep Byers at 197.
 
Can't wait to pound Cael and his Kitty Cats into the ground this year. As long as we stay healthy and wrestle to our potential I think there is no way we finish anywhere but #1.
 
My input is not important but I cannot wait til we put the hurting on! It is a 2 team race and I dont even think 3rd place will be close. Funky Dylan Carew will show Molinaro a good time or two eating mat. Cant wait til the undertaken is done and we get our title back where it belongs in Iowa City.

I believe Okie State poses more of a threat to the Hawks this year now that they have added Cayle Byers at 197 lbs. Should be another great year of wrestling entertainment!!
 
I saw AFHawks report the Dylan Carew tweaked his knee last week, but then reported later that the "tweak" will not require surgery and he should be ready to go for the season. Having a healthy Carew at 149 will be helpful.
 
SP - realize I have no inside info...just passing along what I've read other places. I agree that having a healthy Carew is very good for the Hawks!
 
I saw a couple times these pre-season rankings have a guy listed at #1 in a weight class they moved up to this year from a lower class last year. What is the likely hood of making that transition and staying at #1? Seems to me that would be a very difficult thing to do.
 
Carew did have a slight knee "injury" but he is just fine and will be ready to go. Having him in the lineup will be very big for this team and hopefully he can stay healthy. He is a huge talent for sure.

I agree that Okie State probably poses the biggest threat right now but I think that PSU and Minnesota could cause problems and challenge for the title as well. There are just a lot of questions around PSU right now with Long, Sherlock, and Ruth having legal troubles and redshirt questions with Alton and McIntosh. It will be interesting to see how there lineup will shake up.
