Will we start losing recruits we targeted early?

Will we see more decommits and others taking more offical visits to other schools after what we've seen so far this season? I think we see acouple more decommitments in the next couple weeks and end up finding more 2* diamonds in the rough... when its all said and done I think the early recruiting momentum we had backfires and end up settling like we would in years past. Hey thats football.

Has nothing to do with early commitment, it has to do with how crappy we are right now. The difference is this year we are not fighting for recruits we are trying to hold them. In the end, in either scenario, we would end up with fall back recruits. I do agree though, I expect a few of these guys to jump ship soon. You can only polish a turd so much.

Well, David Kenney already has decommitted and he was our best recruit. And the Kenny kid is wavering now. But it's all good, we can just fill the scholarships up with some MAC level kids or take some walk-ons. I mean we're just lil' ol' Iowa anyway and that's just football.

I lime this thread. Its lime a bugzapper, drawing in all the moths to one place. Keep.it up.

I dont see a 6-6 tpe of season dramatically altering the landscape of our recruiting class. It would be one thing if we went 3-9 or something, but most high school football players have enough perspective to understand things dont always pan out as you hoped (which is kinda funny considering some in here dont) and wont let it stand in their way.

So the only way this seasons resulys ultimately hurt us is if people were expecting us to go 10-2 and pick up every single kid who committed, and if that person exists they likely have bigger problems in life.

6-6 with a bowl game and you could be right, we probably don't see much attrition in the class. Missing a bowl game though could change some kid's opinions. And I personally don't see two more wins based upon how they have played the last seven games.

Hey, the MAC ain't that bad!

Kenny i've seen on several sites is solid Iowa, but more importantly we will know early since he's going to be an early enrollment in January.

We may lose a couple, and may also gain one or two that we steal away from someone, but is that any different from any other year?

Ya, and do you think his dad taking a position as a part of the football staff had anything to do with him committing to Indiana?

with early commitments, some are going to de-commit anyway. It happens everywhere. That said, crappy FB sure isn't helping anything.

I think there are many important factors kids look at such as KF has won in the past and has a remarkable record for putting guys in the NFL (as good or better than anybody). Add to it the new facilities, great stadium, great school, great fans and there is alot to offer recruits.

The only one's we will likely lose are the one's that have seen us play this year.

All jokes aside, hopefully they've seen enough up to this point that they can get past the current results and recent struggles and still want to be part of this program.

we kept Ballard and Claybourne in spite of the 06-07 seasons wher Iowa went 6-7 and 6-6. No reason to think we will lose recruits because of the last 2 seasons, players still look at Iowa as a way to get to the NFL..
The improved recruiting the last 3 years is going to keep improving, as Iowa 2011 class was rated 30th and most should remember how the 2005-2007 class was rated 10th and28th ened up with a Orange bowl win in 2009.
last year and this year vis a direct result of the Rhabdo incident where 12-14 players were sidelined and the early deferfection of Reiff a 1st round draft pick, Wegher leaving early because of personal problems and Coker getting run off by Mason "IMO" there are others if you want me to list them.
2010 4 4*'s 5 2*'s and the rest were 3*'s
2011 6 4*'s 5 2*'s and the rest were 3*'s class rated 30th
2012 5 4*'s 5 2*'s the rest 3*'s after years of getting 13-14 2"s it has improved a bunch
