Will the press ask KF about not punting at end of 1st half and waved off playcall?

I really want to hear the answers. I cant understand when Iowa is getting the 2nd half kickoff why KF went for it on 4th and long right before the end of the first half? So out of character. Is that why the players looked like they were hungover in the 3rd qtr?
That just gave PSU a lift and of their 17 first half points the defense really only gave up 7 so to speak. Just a terrible decision, the kind of decision that gets you fired in the pros.

And will reporters ask about the whole 1st and goal situation at the end of the game.

After the end I didnt even feel like listening to the radio postgame and definitely not Soundoff.

In defense of that everyone has been pissing and moaning forever about Kirk always being conservative and playing it safe. Had they gotten the 1st down it would have been hooray for new Kirk! and we may have gotten some points on the board. Ordinarily the D would have held them anyway plus it had nothing to do with losing the game.

At some point it's got more to do with using your brain and less about whether or not you are conservative.

No reason to go for it there. Stanley was awful, the chances of getting the first down were about 1%. Any other coach would have punted.

The thing is though, they weren't in fourth down territory and they weren't close to a first down. The defense was playing fairly well but not lights out, and Stanley was a mess. So, why risk a long shot and give an opponent decent field position.

KF realized that we all criticized him for not playing fast and loose with little time on the clock in the first half and decided to be aggressive. If he had only taken our advice... oh, yeah.

Did you notice the final score, 6 points, without the FG by PSU it is 3 points. You can coach it different on either of the last 2 drives.

They ran 2 wacky plays in the game. That one cost us 3 points. The other gave us 4 points (TD instead of FG). Came out ahead 1 point. Tough to bitch about one and not the other just because one worked and the other didn't.

He was asked about both plays and actually didn’t get defensive on either one.

They were trying to hit a big play down the hash on the fake punt play and 2 was supposed to punt if it wasn’t there and he obviously didn’t.

And on the 1st and goal play he said they were discombobulated from the start and should have gotten a timeout
