will the clowns win a game this year?

Tulsa's on the road. Their best shot is at home vs. kansas but that's in nov. If they don't have a win they will probably have packed it in for the year. Well, they usually do after they play Iowa anyway. IF the clowns go 0-12, does Rhoads get axed? How can you justify keeping a coach around after an 0-12 (or 1-11) season in his 5th year?

They're young, and the money's coming in, he won't get axed. Lazard comes in next year to keep the die-hard fanbase placated.

In terms of this year I think if they don't beat Tulsa they will go 0-fer. If they beat Tulsa, they get 1 or 2 more on top of it.

I think they can beat Kansas, maybe West Virginia. It's going to be extremely tough when they can't stop the run or run the ball themselves. Their assets are athletic but young WRs, a good punter, and an okay QB. That's not much to work with.

They need their offense to carry them to wins and I'm not sure there is the talent or creativity to get that done.

They play Texas in Ames in early October. UT might have it packed it in by then. They could have a shot there. Could win at Tulsa, possibly Kansas in Ames. But make no mistake, this is as bad as an ISU team that I've seen in awhile and that's saying something.

Going 0-12 won't hurt Rhodes. After all, his first 4 seasons he went 7-5, 5-7, 6-7, and 6-7 again. Every ISU fans knows that after a great run like that you have to expect a few down years.

Yes, you are right there. I think Knott and Klein were the defensive glue that helped them win a few extra games the last two years, and of course Rusty Steele Jantz had a few career games to win a few otherwise the last two years ISU only wins about 4 games a year.

If Rhodes cant get a few studs/hidden gems it could be bad in Ames.

I think they only win 1 game, maybe two and also losing to Iowa will really make for a harsh winter for clown fans.

Should be no surprise to anybody that they may not win a game this year. I don't think they'll win a big 12 game. They lost so much from last year. Half their starters are d-1aa talent and they got an OC that is absolutely horrible.

i think they probably win 2 games, maybe as many as 3 or 4 if it all starts to click for them.

they are weak at many positions though. gonna be a long year.

With the Chizek comment earlier brings up an interesting question: if he were to return to coach in Ames, would the commemorative Chizek coin jump in value or lose value because they would make a second edition coin?
