Will our guys care about Nebraska?

This will be a huge game for the fans - will our players even care? In other words most won't know that the fans hate each other. Will there be any passion from our guys?

Nebraska looks much faster than us. They play faster than we do. Can we match up with thier fast attacking defense? I just see Stanzi getting sacked 8-9 times.

After this loss, I don't know if Nebraska will care much about us. Will be tough to bounce back for them.

They'll get the message within the next couple of days.

If it turns out to be Iowa-Nebraska, the $3.65 million man had better get it figured out fast. The lost season is lost. There's no rewind. There's no do-over. By the time they kick it off, the Hawkeyes had better be breathing fire and brimstone and come out and play with the pride and emotion that has been missing most of this season.

Any coach worth the money would ensure that happens. He owes it to his players and his fans, both of whom have been largely let down by perhaps the most poorly coached in-game season in the last 50 years.

either way, just think of a guy like Adrian entered this year hearing the wonderful news about the addition of Nebraska to the Big 10 thinking he would never be able to face them..... Now he gets to show them who the real 'Suh' is!

Agreed. Iowa will give maximum effort in this game. And I don't think NU is any better than Wisky, Ohio St or Mich St.

It could be a heck of a game.

Seems to me they are Michigan with a better defense (ha! That's saying a lot!) but a slightly less wide open, less prolific offense.

It should be a heck of a game.

I remember after Nebby was announced as the newest member of the Big 10 and they interviewed some of the players over it. They said something to the effect that they were disappointed they wouldn't get a shot at them. Maybe they will after all.

On the other hand I guarantee they are much better than Indiana, Minnesota and probably NW even with a healthy Persa.

Hard for me to read this matchup. I hope the common game with ISU is an indicator but I seriously doubt that will be. I think they have more offense than we do. And I think it more likely that their D shuts us down than ours shutting them down.

If Kirk maintains the Tom Landy approach and focuses on emotionless football against Nebraska his team will be owned by Bo. Kirk is going to have to change in the new B-10(12) and if he doesn't Iowa will play second fiddle for the rest of his tenure.

For the most part we do bad against the pass happy QB's like Persa and Chappell. They can hit those dink and dunk passes and move the ball on command. Pryor, who doesn't fit into that category, beat us because although he doesn't pass as much, he can make the passes when it's needed and he can beat you on his feet. It's QB's like Denard Robinson and Taylor Martinez that we can handle a little better because they just don't have the ability to make quality passes on command. My issue with Nebby isn't our defense stopping their offense, it's our offense facing their defense.

Being a Hawk fan in Lincoln I would love the chance for an Iowa-Nebraska bowl matchup. If Iowas defense gets to Martinez early in the game like OU and others have this year I don't see Nebraska playing him the entire game like they did tonight. I'd look for Burkhead out of the wildcat alot more and possibly Green or Zac Lee under center.

Still have to watch out for their D, especially their secondary.

^ Personally, I think DJK & McNutt would pwn Prince!

I hope your right! I live amongst Nebraska fans and they are extrodinarily cocky. I wish I could say that this loss would bring them down a notch but it hasn't, I already hear "We will destroy you worst than Minny did" If their team goes into the game with this same mindset I think they will self destruct like they did against Texas.

There couldn't be a bigger clash in opposing coaching philosophies than this game. Conservative emotionless vs. Aggressive psychotic. I fear they are going to give Stanzi fits in the pocket.
