Why to not get our hopes up about Cooper

do you agree with the experts on this one homer?

You never know in the recruiting game for certain ... and that's probably why Ferentz made sure he made the visit to Cooper.

After all ... Zettel picked Penn State ... and that was an absolute HUGE shocker.

A ton of folks in the know within the state of Michigan were pretty certain that Zettel was a lock to remain in-state ... and it wasn't even complete-"homer" speculation either. I knew that Zettel really liked what he saw when visiting PSU ... however, I was pretty shocked when he picked them too.

I was also pretty surprised when Hunter picked Iowa a number of years back too.

I was pretty pleasantly surprised when Coker stuck to Iowa too.

I was pretty surprised that CJ Fiedorowicz was considering tOSU and Illinois so heavily when Iowa and Wisconsin were obviously much better options ... and he initially committed to Illinois, no less. Were it not for a horrendously embarrassing season ... he might have stuck to that commitment too.

Lastly, I was surprised when Iowa ended up still landing Riley Reiff in the end too.

Again, you never know for certain .... that's why Iowa's recruiters work so hard just to keep us in the picture.

LOL! Wouldn't you know it ... it could that the aforementioned "flood gates" are the very factor that seem to have led PSU to fill up before getting a verbal from Cooper.

Current word now out of PSU-land is that they're pulling away from Cooper.

Man-O-man recruiting is such a strange game!

Looks like Iowa remains squarely in the picture for Cooper now! I wish I could say "driver's seat" ... however, I've gotta think that we're sitting pretty well. Wild ....

Well since Penn St has passed on him, he can come to Iowa and in a few years take it out on Penn St for passing on him.
Love to get him under a Hawkeye helmet.
