Why not recruit only student-athletes who actually want to earn their degrees?

Wouldn't it make sense for colleges to recruit only student-athletes who want to earn their college degrees?

That might remedy some of the corruption.

And no one cares if athletes get their degrees or not.

Sad, but arguably true.

I think that at some schools, the education remains a priority (Boston College, Northwestern et al.). However, it clearly isn't a priority and tO$U and multiple other schools that have a great deal of success.

These athletes bring millions and millions of bucks. One could make the argument that some or even many of these athletes are used by the systems that rake in the bucks.

Ain't a damn thing funny. It's all about money.

Like the thought, but the question is when did 70,000 people pack a stadium to watch student athletes take a physics test. Bottom line is that as much as fans say they want these kids to get a good education the only thing we really care about is what they can do on the field and not in the classroom (as long as the grades are good enough to keep them on the field).

And how do you plan on finding that out? Ask them?

LOL.

Hey, you plan on getting your degree, right?

Oh, yeah, sure.

What if you could leave early to the NFL and get millions?

Nah, man, that degree is where it's at.
