Why does the Sun Keep on Shining....

Have we forgotten that Fran followed Lickliter and has had us in the top ten this year, his fourth season.....

Obviously, it you have the speed and athleticism plus bench you can stop the Hawks in transition. Three of the best coaches in America who have played for the National Championship and won two of them, who only recruit 4/5 star players and have a long tradition of excellence, as the Hawks have had over the years, but are just getting back to that position. Tom Izzo and Judd Hethcote each have a National Championship. The Buckeyes have won a National Championship and played in one a few years ago. Michigan has won a National Championship under Steve Fisher and played last season for the Championship under John Beilein. This season we are alone in third place under Michigan and Michigan State who seem to make the Final Four on a regular basis. That is heady company and we are approaching that stasis. The progress to date is extremely impressive. Don't forget the disgusting mess Lick left us in......

As far as the Hawks play recently is concerned. We have lost to Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State, No surprise there.... Michigan State was lucky to escape with a win despite our scoring slump. We are getting closer and being in third place should be enjoyed for the minor miracle it has been.....

Our troubles lately, to me, seem to be Fran's substitution patterns. It is an extremely difficult juggling act to perform differently each and every game. I am certain that he knows what he is doing and doing what he thinks is best for the team. The biggest mistake so far this season is not having Gabe and Woody in the game for the inbounds play with 2 seconds on the clock. They scored easily, then gained possession of the ball, before we could get a shot off, and scored three points. A five point swing when we were coming back......

I do wish Mike G would get a lot more playing time and would shoot more. There have been two games that he has not shot the ball one time. He is one of our best shooters, taking it to the hoop or shooting the three. We need him on offense. We are much more mobile in the half court when he is in the game......

I also would like to see Woody and Gabe in the game at the same time. They would be BAD on D and serious trouble on Offense with Woody's scoring improvement, he is building his arsenal, and his excellent passing ability, they would be very difficult to stop. Just both in for a few minutes at a time. Open things up for Aaron and Devyn, who are in a bit of a slump that will END. Bet on it. I notice Aaron opening his game in the middle with an assortment of hook style shots. A sky hook can be made away from the basket. Would be nice to see Aaron develop a game in the middle, he is certainly quick and skillful enough.....

We were not prepared for Michigan at their house, lost our shooting touch against MSU, and Ohio State, big time. Could have won the MSU game in regulation and were cheated by the refs on Mike G's shot at the end of OT......

When we are behind, I would much rather have Josh Oglesby in than Zach McCabe, who has been one of our best three point shooters over his career, but Josh can be a sniper. He sits too much when we need points. The criticism of Josh passing up a contested three for a guaranteed two at crunch time is merely stupid.....

I think we need to employ the three quarter and half court trap and press more frequently......

One of the bottom lines is how good we really are. We have all seen the excellence this team is capable of. The Big Ten season is, as Fran mentioned, Brutal every year. Look at the upsets already this year. Forget not we are the third best team in the Big Ten. I personally am proud and will enjoy the moment as Jon Miller has said, in other words......

I find it difficult to blame Fran for the three point shots that clanged off the rim, especially in the first half. The odds are against missing that many open shots. OSU was seriously angry because we beat them at Columbus when they were ranked 3 through 5 in the nation. Seems that we forget that little gem.....

Fear not, true Hawk fans, we are going to the Dance and it will be a different game outside the Big. Unfortunately, we will have to play Duke or Kentucky in the second round, same as Dr.Tom did. Seemed somewhat unusual and unfair to have it happen almost every year. Seemed like a punishment of sorts for some reason.....

not going to lie, didn't read it all. but, what i did read moved me to tears, then to anger, then to action.

damn you Jack, you're a natural leader.

I asked Jack to put pictures in his narrative and then place the text in "bubbles" above the pictures so guys like and and I, Meat, can fathom the depths of his essays. (Just messin' with both of you...love this stuff!)

Thank you, Doc....

I posted that during the OOC schedule, that our depth will backfire when it becomes apparent there's no possible way to find the best 5 before 25:00 is up. Even when you do and they go up anywhere between 12-21 on the opponent, you're pretty helpless when they begin to implode, as has happened every time a lineup did click against a strong opponent.

I don't know about BOTH Woodbury and Olaseni. Too many talented PF fighting for minutes. What we can't forget from that awful game is that both Gesell and Olaseni may very well have taken that next step. Both suddenly looking to go hard at the rim and succeeding.

This would be an extremely tough break. Both Kentucky and Duke are pretty good and probably don't deserve to go out in the 2nd round...

Little by little we will improve. It is Fran's trademark closing the regular season......

So we're in a rough stretch (I guess.) Considering this program was one of the worst major conference programs in the country not long ago, I'm okay with a rough stretch where we are 2-2 with two road wins. It's a long season, **** happens, there's plenty of time to figure it out by tourney time and go on a run.

For all we know, this team could click and we'll beat the crap out of Michigan Saturday. Then we'll all be circle jerking each other again. It will be fun.

The possibility exists, we have a lot of pride and talent and should be ready for Michigan this time. Stop Stauskas and LaVert and we will win.....

Putting the clamps on Glenn Robinson Jr. would certainly help.....
