Why does everybody think that PSU

Would go west. Would it be just as likely that Neb could go east? If you ask me PSU has been in the Big Ten for the past 20 years and they have payed their dues so why should they be forced to the west. You could move MU and OSU to the west and Neb to the east. At least if you’re going to make keeping MU and OSU together the most important thing above all else that would make as much since as making PSU fans have to travel half way across the country for all of their games. I’m not so sure that it hasn’t been discussed because of a comment that Osborne had make at the Big Ten meeting about being very disappointed if Neb didn’t get to play Iowa and Minnesota every year. All I know for sure is that somebody is going to have to give for this to work. Either MU and OSU give up being in the same deviation or a lot of flipping and flopping is going to have to happen to satisfy this imaginary Neb is an elite program and must be placed with PSU, MU, and OSU. If Neb is an elite program they won’t mind going east to prove there greatness. ;)

I don't think Penn St. will end up going to a West Division, because there most likely won't be a West (or East) Division. According to Delany, geography isn't really all that important in the grand scheme of things. So, I'm guessing the divisions will be labeled something boring, like Division 'A' and Division 'B'. Then again, this is the Big Ten (with 12 teams), so maybe we'll end up with a Division 'C' and Division 'D'.
Also remember, Delany's two faves are Penn St and Ohio St, so IF one of the divisions happens to be more Western-based, it will not be either of those two that end up getting Fieveled. It will be Michigan.

I say keep OSU, PSU and Michigan in the east. As a group there isn't a whole lot of difference between mentioned schools and Iowa, Nebraska and Wisconsin. Granted, Ohio State has been winning Big Ten titles regularly. But there isn't a lot of difference between OSU and the other top schools in terms of competitiveness other than OSU seems to win the close ones more often in head to head competition.

I would be in favor of moving MSU to the west and Northwestern to the east. Some may argue what about the Michigan and MSU rivalry? Play the game every other year (it may come to that between Iowa and Iowa State before too long) as the bigger game is between Michigan and Ohio State. The Michigan and Ohio State game should be played annually. The same goes for Iowa, Nebraska and Wisconsin playing each other annually.

I don't think they will either. Jon, thinks (or thought) so and he owns the board, may have something to do with it.
