Why didn't an article like this come from an Iowa writer???

That guy is a good journalist and had had Kurt nailed for quite some time. He's been bashed on this forum before, but he's been right all along.

Meh, this ain't the first article I've seen like this. It's been written in Iowa many times before.
Just an observation, the author's name is Barfnecht.

Hahahahaha!! How ******* pathetic was that answer by the 4 million dollar man. Are you kidding me. Just wow!! This comment alone should and would fire up any competent AD especially because it is one big lame *** excuse... Barta is clueless as well, he should be lighting a fire under KF's ***..

Coach Kirk Ferentz spun the situation as something more serendipitous.

“That’s football,” he said. “You never know what’s going to happen. You take it a week at a time. Circumstances change, your team changes, injuries — all those things can take place. That’s what makes it so interesting.”

Dead on...it makes me mad as hell that it has to come from out of state.

Oh hell that's an easy question. Its because the punk *** pansy writers in this state have no balls and cant handle the criticism if just one reader disagrees with them. To make matters worse the U of I will revoke their media credentials if they get their feelings hurt. That was a very good to the point article. Thanks for sharing that link

Is your media credential really worth not writing an article that you really believe in? Who would look worse if Iowa pulled someone's credentials for being critical?

Not sure if the MSM protects Obama more than the Iowa media protects Ferentz.
Both medias seem out of touch with the general populace.

You must be a gdamn idiot. Just a glaring example of the rule that you can't fix stupid. Apparently you've never actually watched the MSM in action.

God I hate stupid people. Why are you so stupid? It's depressing that you live with unlimited access to information yet you remain so deliberately ignorant.

Do you even know who owns the MSM?

Leave it to a wingnut a$$hole to take an accurate well reasoned Kurt story and graft his own propaganda addled political BS onto it.

He is actually 100% correct. No one in the MSM is or ever does challenge Obama and his policies. It's blatenly obvious if you don't have the libnut goggles on.
As for the article posted here it is spot on and no one other than Howe has said it like this.

I know several of the Iowa sports writers. Good people but they are totally intimidated into not asking a hard question (or better yet, series of hard questions) of Ferentz, McCaffery, Barta or any of the other Iowa coaches. If they do, in the case of football they might find themselves cut out of Tuesday pressers and post-game Q&A sessions, and sitting out on cold bleachers Saturday afternoons and not having food, drinks, stats and play-by-play spoon-fed to them if they cross the mighty Captain. Pathetic.

Ferentz would never survive in a larger media market.

What's funny about ridiculous comments such as this is that Fox News is basically the very definition of "Mainstream Media". They're the #1 cable news network in the country. Fox News is as "mainstream" as it gets and all they do is bash Obama. However, somehow Fox News acts like they're outside of the "mainstream" and try to play this "us against the world" card and people like you are foolish enough to believe it.

Also, politics on a sports message board? Grow up Peter Pan. Count Chocula.

Not ONE media member stops to think how much of a hero they would be right now to call for KF's firing....and it doesn't have to come from a beat reporter either before someone explains to me that they never do that. I really think much like KF does, the Iowa sports media think they are doing a great job covering the Hawkeyes and providing great insight...I see nothing but game reports and rehashed powder puff stories year after year. If KF was in Columbus or Ann Arbor, both the local rag and school newspaper would have called for his head by now...in fact, years ago. And with good reason!

mopkins - Obama provides ALL the material needed to bash him daily. Anyway, can't we get back to what's really important....football.

Absolutely. I'll take it a step further. If Iowa had pro sports teams, a major city, mountains, or the ocean, Kinnick would be half full and all of that naive loyalty Hawkeyes expect wouldn't exist.

The hawks are the only show in town. Truth.

#sourgrapes.

I've been purchasing season tickets for a long time, and that game Friday was the umpteenth installment of nut punches.
