Who will be the starting QB coming out of the spring game?

Who's your pick? Will anyone separate themselves from the rest during the spring game? Or will it be status quo (most seniority)?

Jake Rudock 6'3" 205lbs RS-SO

Cody Sokol 6'2" 215lbs RS-JR

CJ Beathard 6'2" 195lbs RS-FR
 




I'm guessing Rudock will be named the "starter" coming out of the spring game and going into the fall camp. I've heard too much conflicting info about the other two, so who knows how it will all shake out once the games start though.

i doubt anyone will look great, so i'm going off of that. who knows, someone could have really taken over the team and look sharp. i almost hope not, cause that will just make me more mad about last season and how KF stuck with JVB so long in those blowouts.

Even if it's Beathard? I would be excited to see a freshman come take the reigns during spring ball. It wouldn't have made sense to pull his shirt last year as a frosh. Would you rather him have gotten garbage time reps that wouldn't have helped our w/l record and be a soph this year or would you rather have a talented QB who is a 4 year starter?

i would be shocked if Beathard gets the nod seeing how he's a freshman. but, if he does, i would rather that they kept the RS on him last year. i guess when i stated the above, i was referring to Rudock and Sokol.

It all depends on if that QB was getting 2nd team reps (like Tate did in 2003) or was running with the scout team. I would rather have a SO with 3 years left who got 2nd team reps as a FR, then a RS FR who ran the scout team offense as a TR FR and has 4 years left to play.

That logic doesn't really work. Of course CJ didn't get 2nd team reps if he was redshirting. You want those reps going to Rudock since he would have been the one going in the game if Vandy got hurt.

But it is still possible that CJ is better than Rudock. It's been half an offseason, and lots of time to improve.
 


As a matter of fact, everyone I know in the program has told me that CJ is the best quarterback of the 3 but has had the most adjusting to do to the college game.
 


I'm going Sokol with no inside information and only because:

Rudock got 0 snaps this year... so I'm thinking they must not think he is the guy.
CJ is a freshman.

I thought that before spring ball started but all signs are actually pointing to it being more of a two man race now between CJ and Jake.
 






Do you really think the good captain is going to make a decision in the spring?

Rudock, but I want the QB who has the best ability to scramble. Not a run first type guy, but a guy that can scramble to buy time and an run it for a first down if need be.

From what I've heard, Beathard comes the closest to that?

Like Ricky Stanzi his So yr. before he had too much time with the coaches.
 


I say we run some plays where we have Mark, Damon and Jordan back there. At least show that in warm ups. :). Fry would love that!
 


Bethard is our Johnny Football! All kidding aside who knows. I don't have much confidence in Ruddock because he didn't see a single snap last year but who knows he may be better this year. Any of the 3 could be our possible starter.
