White a senior needs to be smarter than that. Too many players, at least last nite, didnt look to be ready to shot, drive or pass when they received the ball. I couldnt see the hampton game, saw about half the ND State game, and couldnt get the Texas game, but maybe last night it was Syracuse extending the defense that would take our guards out of their game, would have liked to see the guards try to penetrate more, give a shot fake and drive.

As far as posters complaining about Fran's coaching, I thought he had the players ready to attack the Cuse zone at the freethrow line/high post and getting the ball quickly to the baseline to outnumber the low zone defenders. But the hawks also didnt finish a lot of good opportunities after they worked the ball in.

White, Woody, and Oleseni need to go up strong more often and jam or just drop the ball in the hoop

I was really concerned about how the hawk big men got outmaneuvered on defense to give the Cuse big men 40+ points.

Gesell was over the rim to block a shot and get a foul called but when he drives for a layup he hardly ever takes a good jump stop or one more stride to go up and through players arms to lay the ball over the rim. Here is where I think the coaches need to tell clemmons and gesell and probably Dickerson to attck the rim.

Sorry for looking mostly at the negative but this team could be really good if more aggressive

Maybe they're looking for the Ghost of Marble to appear. I think we have ball handlers that can't shoot well and shooters that can't handle the ball well. So we end up needing open shots for the shooters (which good defenses don't give often) or hoping our guards are having a good shooting night from the outside and we know how that has gone.

Marble could handle the ball well and was an offensive threat especially when creating shots or drawing defensive pressure away from other players. This team passes the ball around but it's like they're saying hey you take it, no you take it, etc.........looking for the Ghost of Marble.

P.S. I also haven't seen as much movement without the ball with this year's offense so far. Seems like McCabe could always be counted on for that element. Seems like a lot of standing around at times waiting for someone to try to do something.
