White, Basabe, Gesell, Marble were a combine 4 of 26 from the field.

I watched the first half and decided to take a walk. It reminded me of the movie Groundhog Day, where things keep repeating. Iowa just can't finish. When 4 of your starters go 4 of 26 you do not win.

Well our senior go to guy was 3-21 all by himself yet kept taking fade always instead of taking it to the rack.

Marble's decisions in this game just proved what I thought about him. Terrible terrible decisions when it mattered and cost his team the game. Sad way to go out IMHO.
Share the rock, it really is unfortunate.

I'm not going to blame Dev for this loss or any other this season. I will just repeat what I've been saying all along -- this team will have a different dynamic next year without RDM, one that I think will markedly improve its chances of winning tough games.

The "go-to" guy was simply gone too often late in close games.

White might be fighting for minutes, next season, if Atwood commits and Uthoff improves his game.
Basabe? Since Jarryd Cole graduated, Basabe has been more miss than hit.
Yes, Gesell assist/turnover ratio is great. Yes, his passing can look fantastic.
But what has happened to rest of this game??
Marble's advantages were being countered by opposing coaches, and Iowa didn't adjust the latter part of the season.

It just felt that all 4 of them played better last season.

Aaron White = fade to black....I'm not one to call anyone out, but this has been my observation for several games this year...he started out pretty tough and was into the game early, but like the ending of every movie I've seen, so goes Aaron....He needs to step up plain and simple....

Gesell - he will be fine...before this 2 game slide of his he was playing really good. He just hasn't knocked down the shots lately but the assists and pushing the offense are still there. The big problem was late in the yr his shooting woes affected his defense and he got beat more late than he did earlier in the yr.

marble - he needed to attack and try to get to the line. He didn't he proved he was soft. I was impressed that he knocked down the shot to send it to ot and had good defense to keep it tied but where was he for the 39+ min before?

white - he needs to play the 4 he also need to learn to play defense. He may be the worst defender on the team. He cost us a few pts on the press by not being in good position. I say he maybe the worst defender because everyone else at least looks like they are trying to defend. He just looks bored and disinterested on defense.

basabe - he is was our best post up offensive player and he was rarely used I believe that he was very fed up with others on the team and he let it affect his play at the end of the yr because he saw all his hard work being flushed as his career comes to an end.

He was 12/41 in the four games before his "two game slide". I think at this point there are some real questions about if he is a good enough shooter to be anything more than an average B10 pg. His 2 pt FG%, 3 pt FG% and FT% all declined from last season and that was while playing alongside a first team All B10 guy who drew the other teams best perimeter defender. And like you mentioned, his defense which was improved took a big step back over the last month or so of the season.

1st half they played like a team, second half was more of the same crap we have seen during the slide. My coworkers (ku) fans pointed out that they seem to panic way too early. Thanks seniors but time to go now, I'm not going to miss them really at all. No team leader, ball hog, bad decisions ect.. Should not be describing seniors that start or get considerable playing time! looking for more "team" play in the future. Get to the gym guys, this is when you should get "mad".
