Which rivalry game would you rather watch?

Game 1:Features a pair of teams that won bowls last year, including a BCS game. Both teams had defining victories on the road against traditional powers (Penn St and Nebraska) last year and both return most of their starting offenses (both teams have their QB and leading rusher back) and their best defensive players.

Game 2: Features teams that both had a losing record last year. Both teams have first year starting QBs. Both teams lost their best player to the NFL. One team fired its coach after last year and the other team is likely to fire their coach if things don't drastically improve this year.

Well game 1 is Iowa/IA State, Game 2 is Mich/ND, so I'd rather watch Iowa/ISU. The rest of the nation doesn't care about Iowa/ISU.

Me: ISU/Iowa

The U.S. except for Iowa:Michigan/ND

FWIW, ISU/Iowa will be a better game. I think Michigan wins the other going away.

Let's not get crazy. Michigan still doesn't have a defense, and the game is in South Bend. I think Iowa has a better shot of routing ISU than Michigan does Notre Dame and vice versa.

Even as a Hawkeye fan, Michigan Notre dame appeals more to me then the cy hawk game does, the game is only a big deal if we lose, otherwise its just one of those early season cupcake wins and the game hasn't been very competitive for years now. Hopefully we have it put away by half so I can start watching all of the great games that are happening tomorrow.

Not Competitive??? Iowa should roll this year just like they did last year, but they only won by one score 2 years ago, and lost 3 years ago. KF has a losing record in the rivalry. The game is typically very competitive, but I don't think this one will be.

Notre Dame doesn't have a defense or an Oline. The only strength of Michigans defense is the Dline. Judging from the fact that NDs Oline didn't look all that good and UCONNs should be very good, Michigan will own the line of scrimmage. ND really didn't have much of an answer for Purdues running backs either who aren't even close to Michigans. ND is three deep at safety as well which doesn't help. Sure, Michigans secondary is junk, but if they can create pressure it won't matter. I think they do that and I think they get to Crist early and often forcing him into a couple mistake which is all I think that offense needs. I think you will have outscore Michigan to beat them this year. It will happen, but it will be because you control their Dline. I don't see ND doing that. Michigan by 2 scores.

I'd rather watch Iowa/Iowa State but I'm an alum. If I had no rooting interest, I'd watch the Michigan/Notre Dame game just so I could be SHOCKED(!!!!!!) when they both have 5 losses this year.
