Which Big-10 team, currently not ranked, will be?

Sparty #2
Michigan #7
OSU #10
Wisky #20

I think Iowa will be, and soon.

And as for the rest of the league, other than Indiana, I don't think so. Maybe maybe Illinois.

Iowa is #29 in the coaches poll and Virginia will drop out with their loss. Indiana has a chance to drop out too after their showing last night. Baylor may even slide out after barely getting by South Carolina. Wont be long and the Hawks will be ranked.

Given Iowa's performance against UNO, you probably could apply the same logic to them. Rankings just put a bigger target on your back and mean nothing in November & December better to stay below the radar for awhile.

I agree that Virginia will drop out, and Tennessee was ahead of us in receiving votes and lost to, but it is dumb that the 25th ranked team loses at home by 3 to the 14th ranked team and automatically drops, but that's the way the polls work.

The current rankings came out on Monday, which was one day after Iowa's game against UNO. Iowa has been 29th in both weeks of the poll so far. In other words, Iowa's performance against UNO did not hurt their ranking.

An unranked Iowa struggling to an 8 point win that wasnt even televised wont catch as many peoples attention as a ranked Indiana escaping by 1 in a game that was on BTN.

For much the same reason as the BIG football teams struggle to get much notice in the polls due to the conference's reputation, BIG's basketball reputation will likely have the opposite effect with pollsters........at least until some of the BIG team's might take a hit from some non-elites on their non conf schedule.

They had a 1-point win at home in their opener last weekend against some crap team. I doubt it will be Purdue.

They played that game with their big stud, Hammons, on the bench suspended. If Painter can light a fire under that kid, and he comes every night to play, they will be formidable.

I know. I still say Purdue. They only have to hit number 25 in any 1 week of the poll. I think they will...certainly don't think they will spend the season there.

Iowa will be ranked soon enough. Just outside of most major polls as it is. Iowa should be ranked by the beginning of November pending no dumb losses and a couple wins in the Bahamas.

I agree with those saying Iowa. I see Iowa being ranked as pretty much a given...was looking for a team other than Iowa.
