I hope its in Lincoln so the fans can get a taste of big ten football, they thought nebraska was hard nosed, wait til they play Iowa and Wisky.

Guys no offence but we have played iowa and wisconson before. Maybe we had more talented teams then or whatever but its not like they have never played eachother. Your acting like its the 1st time we will of ever have stepped foot in kinnick.

I know they have played before but this will be different, it will be the start of a rivalry whether its official or not, and they will be conference foes, so it wont be like an out of conference loss where iowa is like dang neb was #1 we gave them our best shot, the loser will be looking foward to next year.

While you are correct that Nebraska has played in Kinnick before, the atmosphere and meaning of the game is different from tomorrow (official announcement) forward. Nebraska and Iowa were two different teams and two completely different programs the last time they met. Games were for bragging rights only.
Every game Iowa/Nebraska plays will mean something. A trip to the Rose Bowl, another BCS game, a January Bowl Game. The Nebraska/Iowa rivalry is no longer hypothetical it will be tangible and the fans will react in kind. This thing is much bigger than bragging rights.

Your right the game will be different because obviously there is alot of hate for nebraska. Hate is a pretty strong thing which i dont understand why. Has any nebraska fan raped any hawkeyes daughter out of hawkeye spite. God guys its just football. And also its not like playing in Blacksburg was any small feet. All im saying is that we are used to playing in hostile inviroments. Now if some hawkeye fans set fire to the husker team then they might not be used to that. Honestly it will be a rivalry and we are in the same talent area (maybe yours alittle more) as you. We just wont know until we play. Guys thats 2 years from now. Who knows you might not be the same team then either.

I think you're reading too much into this tread but since you opened the door, you need to check the Husker boards, there's a lot of hate for Iowa there.
As for me I'm just looking forward to that first game of the Iowa/Nebraska series. One way or another it will be epic. That is... if I make it through the tailgate.

nebraska fans don't hate iowa? it goes both ways bro. its a rivalry game so the stakes are already higher and the fans are a little more amped up for those games. you don't think michigan vs ohio state is intense?
its not like we are wishing all nebraska fans' daughters get raped or something. all we are saying is that when they come to kinnick stadium, be prepared for a war and we hope the hawkeyes beat them to the ground every year

I guess this thing is going to be a intense rivalry before a snap is even done. I guess so be it. We just lost our other rivalry to the pac 10 so why not.

Call the potential rivalry what you want... intense, hated or whatever- i'd like to propose a different word, "healthy".
If Iowa and Nebraska can both remain top flight programs in the national eye- this rivalry has the potential to dwarf any of the other Iowa vs whomever games IMO. Maybe many of you don't feel the same, but that's just my take. Minus Floyd, I can certainly get up for this game more than Iowa v Minnesota!
Oh, and hated, intense, etc will obviously be a part of the "healthy" rivalry.

Oklahoma for many is still considered Nebraskas biggest rivalry. It is one out of respect. Though with this move it certinaly is dead now.
