Im 51 and been a Hawkeye fan my entire life and why does history keep repeating itself? Do you remember where you where when Steve Waite made the layup to send us to the final four? or beating #2 michigan 16-14 or the catch by Holloway to beat Lsu, beating penn state 2 years ago the orange bowl last year????
All summer we told this team how good they were and we all predicated 12-0 or 11-1, well this team was not ready to play against Arizona and gave them the game in the first half, we should have beat one of the best wisconsin teams but folded in crunch time, we dominated MSU and everyone complained that we ran up the score and why was Ferentz playing starters in the 4th qtr, then we dont show up against a terrible Indy and Northwestern teams, we play great against OSU but get out played in the last 5 mn just like wisconsin, and of course we lose to a terrible Gopher team, a team that cant beat South Dakota or Northern Ill.
We are right back to 3 yrs ago, maybe we will win 9 games next yr because all the superstars will go to the pros and maybe the underclassman will start playing like a team instead of for themselves.
Paterno, Mack Brown, Saban, and Ferentz are all great coaches that had horrible years, you are as good as your players and I hope we have no expectations next yr because this year was the most disappointing year ever as a football fan. What a waste of talent 7-5.
