Lets just go out on that proverbial limb and assume that Tucker is back and in good standing and not in the Lick doghouse. How do you distribute minutes and does your starting lineup change?
My starters remain the same:
Payne
May
Gatens
Fuller
Cole
I see May losing some SG minutes to Tucker but those minutes then can be used to rest Gatens or further down the food chain Fuller by moving May to the 3 and Gatens to the 4 depending on need throughout the game. I think Bawinkel's minutes will be cut by a few too assuming Tuck decides to finally play some D. I personally don't see Tucker moving in to the PG role so Lil' John shouldn't be affected by the addition of Tucker....which is sad.
I think what we will end up with is a better shooting team when Tucker is in for May as this should open up Gatens for a few more looks or at the very least stretch the D for Gatens to penetrate a little more.
What I would hate to see is Brommer and Cougill losing valuable minutes as the need to rest Fuller could be served by Gatens or (gulp) May. I think those two kids need to get about 10 minutes a game just to gain experience for next year.
Lick really needs to take a step back while in-game and remind himself that we aren't going anywhere this year in post-season and that those two kids need to get minutes if for nothing else than to keep them interested in the program and avoid any rumblings of transfers which are killing this program.
Keep everyone happy by giving them a little taste of the action, see if they can improve and modify next year once you have some newer parts but at least keep your options available.
