Who will be the top canidates to replace him? I've heard Rick Kaczenski is pretty intense and could bring some fire to our defense and maybe some new ideas. What do you think?
 
I would like to see Mike Stoops brought in if he is available. His sideline antics are a little much as a HC, but he would be fine as a coordinator and has done really well in that position before.
 
Would love to see coach K get a chance. Young. Full of fire. His fiery temper might not get him promotion though. His defensive style may be to "aggressive" for Ferentz :)

... agree probably see Wilson or Parker get promoted. Co-D Coordinators possibly?

It probably won't happen but I think an outside hire might bring some energy and new ideas. Look what has happened at the WR position since Campbell came in. How about Luke Fickel?? No way he gets the permanent HC job at OSU but he seems like an impressive guy.
 
IDK from what I understand it took KF to get in the face of the DL to get them to play. Plus the all world D line last year left a lot to be desired.

Beyond that he has lost a lot of recruits.

In other words, the jury is still out on that one.

I had actually thought of this too, but there's no way it would happen.
 
Any chance that Aiken would come back? I'd love to have Mark Stoops take over the defense, but there's no way he'd leave his gig at FSU to take the same job at Iowa. The only way he ends up back at Iowa is if it's as a head coach.

Whisenhut could get fired in the next two or 3 years therefore freeing up Aiken.

fans are funny. have a team or unit that doesn't live up to fan expectations - coaches suck. have the best defense in iowa history - coach is 'god'. follow that up with a year like this year and the coach forgot everything he knew from the previous year.

this year is like '07 all over again. people biatch. need to blitz. need to get out of the stone age, etc.

do people really have that short of memories?

vin needs to spread around his eidetic memory to the tavern hawks......
