What's the 4 minute offense?

What do they do differently from the reset of the game.

So the goal is to burn up the clock .... mostly run the ball and pick up first downs. I respectfully ask - how is that any different than what they do the other 56 minutes of a game?

Do they simply take the offense and throw out any possiblity of throwing a pass beyond the 1st down marker? Inquiring minds want to know. Do they just grit their teeth more and make fists tighter in the 4 minute offense? Help me understand !

thats rather funny. Iowa should be very good at the 4 minute offense. Grind the ball on the ground, offensive line over powers defensive line and picks up first downs. Problem is, as we've seen the past 2 weeks Iowa sucks at it.
