What was your preseason prediction?

I went with the safe, middle of the road pick of 6-6 while a lot of others made knee jerk reactions to last year and went negative. I'll admit there were some moments where I didn't see Iowa getting to six wins. But there are others here that predicted 8 wins. My brother being one (your $10 is on the way). In my best optimism I couldn't see where the 2 extra wins were going to come from. I could stretch to 7-5 but 8-4? No. Couldn't do it.

I did think Iowa had a shot at going 5-0 but they went 4-1. I thought there was a good shot at Michigan State. But Ohio State and Wisconsin were always losses. After the MSU loss I thought it was going to go down hill and Iowa would be lucky to pick up another win. But after Ohio State more wins started to seem possible.

Beating Nebraska, Michigan and Northwestern in the same year is a really good year. One is because Iowa hadn't beat Nebraska since Nebraska joined the B1G. Two. It was in Nebraska. Three. it was a solid win three TD win. Four. If Iowa wants respect they get it by beating the top programs. Nebraska is a top program.

And Northwestern because it felt good to get a win back on them. They were really becoming a thorn. Michigan, because well...They are Michigan and it's good to beat them.

I had us at 9-3/5-3 with losses to OSU, wisconsin and michigan....

I'll own it. I predicted 6-6, and until last week was still thinking we would be 6-6. I honestly did not see a win over Michigan, nor over the Bugeaters. I expected a season that could be a stepping stone to bigger things, but not 8 wins and doubling the total from one year ago.

I'm beyond happy with 8-4. Win or lose the bowl game to come, I am very, very happy with this season.

I own what I predicted. I said 2-10. And I am pleasantly surprised. I had no idea this defense would be so good. I knew we had 3 talented senior LBs. But I was suspect of the D Line. And I want wrong there. No pressure when we needed it. The CBs totally surprised me,., they were outstanding this season. I knew or safeties would suck. But PP took them out of the equation late in the season. Good job coach.
Our offense was pretty good. Lots of times the wrong players in the worng spots. Lack of use of the players that could make plays. but not bad. KF/GD need to get on the same page and open it up a little.

With what my negative predicticion was and the turnout. Im very heppy.

7-4 regular season. Thought Iowa would beat Michigan, but also would beat Northern Illinois. Had them losing to Northwestern.

I had 6-6 but was trying to be optimistic and really felt in my gut we'd have only 5 wins and wouldn't have been surprised by another 4 win season. I also thought this season would be the undoing of a short Greg Davis tenure. I'm still uncertain about coach Davis, but I'll gladly admit I underestimated this team.

I predicted 4-8 before the season. I'll stand up and admit that. I won't apologize for it though because honestly I saw absolutely nothing last season to give us hope for this season.

With that said, I've been very impressed with the defense this season. They've done a complete 180 from last season. Those 3 straight blitzes today where we drilled their QB each time were a thing of beauty. The offense has looked better, and there haven't been nearly as many head scratching plays. I love seeing us beat all of the teams we should, and playing the best teams on our schedule tough (with the exception of the 2nd half against MSU and Wisconsin). What we saw today was the definition of Iowa football. Smash mouth offense and a great defensive effort. It's nice to have optimism and reason for hope again!

Edit: I actually predicted 6-6. Thank you to whoever found and bumped the preseason prediction thread!

I predicted 10-2 at the start of the season. Obviously this team underperformed to my expectations.

I am not sure if I ever posted my prediction but I was thinking 5-7 all along. I did not expect Iowa to beat Northwestern, Michigan, or Nebraska. If my predictions are that far off every year I think next year I will pick them to go 1-11.

After last nights exciting basketball win and now this I am loving this Hawkeye koolaid right now.

I had us 9-4 after a win in the Capital One bowl game. Wisconsin may mess up the Capital One Bowl unless they get BCS bowl. I take 9-4 with an Outback Bowl victory. It's all good.

I was 7-5 and then after the OSU game, I thought we had a legit shot to get to 8-4. Thought we could steal one from the bugeatters, but never expected a beat down like this...

I said 7-5 with a bowl bid. If I could have recanted/changed, it would have been after Missouri State, where I would have said 5-7, and then after Wisconsin, which I would have said 6-6. After last week, I was still thinking 7-5.

I could see us playing Nebby close and losing by 3 to 10. I NEVER would have predicted a 21-point win, especially AT Lincoln.

Hard to believe we can legitimately be discussing the Outback Bowl.
