What the Coach Needs To Do

Whoever our new coach will be there are a few things he needs to do. First off he needs to go Hayden Fry on this programs ***! New Uniforms,new court, new locker room, new seating arrangement, new posters, etc. Ricght now we have a losing attitude, and it needs to change! Secondly, team unity must be better. This team is cliquey and that MUST change. Third, he must run an exiting brand of basketball! It doesnt need to be NBA style but lets ratchet up the tension. Fourth, he needs to engage the students. Lets face it, right now, our student section is a sad sack of ****! Alford did try to do some of this so we should get back to that. What else do you guys want?
 
Great post. Is there a 50 year old guy out there that is a marketing genius, innovative, bigger than life personality at a mid major who had success at a big program earlier in his career and has a burning desire to get back to the top. We need the Hayden of BB.

BTW, the jerseys are top notch IMO. People can find anything to complain about, its amazing.
 
i like the changing the culture. like the lions are doing. i say we go back to a yellow style court with a huge tiger hawk in the middle. then we bust out the cursive text jerseys. get the students lined up the whole side behind the bench's and put them on platforms like duke so they can jump up and down and go nuts.

I agree with changing the culture. Sometimes when things go south or stale, you need a major overhaul. Uniforms, definitely need changed. Students closer to the floor so as to cause a problem to opposing teams, definitely. Just for fun (I know it is not realistic, but I think it would be cool) how about an all black floor with yellow arcs and lanes, something a little more intimidating. They could enter to a little Metallica Enter Sandman. Need to get our swagger back.
 
Theres a difference between completely changing the "culture" and changing a few things.

Students closer to the bench, I like that idea.

Having some type of midnight madness event, thats an idea.

But to say we need to change EVERY single detail is a little over the top IMHO.
 
Hey! This would be the perfect opportunity to implement my plan to change the school colors to green and true gold! (Come to think of it, that would be particularly convenient if we hired Scott Drew...)

Revamp the student section, bump the fat-cats back a few rows, and have them hug the court. Oregon is building a new stadium - check the schematic and where their students are situated. That.

Can we also get a video screen, that actually plays replays and other films. I think we are the only area that has no replays.

wow shocking, the team has cliques. have you ever played a team sport? If this was a cult and not a sports team made up of 18-22 year olds I might be worried about cliques.
