What role do Rogers, Law and Garmon play the rest of season?

What do you guys think? Do you think the coaches keep the same personel packages they used yesterday or do you think that they start to expand the roles for some of these guys we've been hearing so much about in camp? I believe that even though we have a good RB in Bullock it's important to keep developing Garmon and Rogers to help the run game.

I think Garmon will get eased into things. He looked a bit overwhelmed yesterday. BR is going to have to play hard to beat out 45.

I heard Law has already left Iowa City and is transferring.

Yeah, I heard he left with Alston on a moped.

This is a joke?

Yes, just having a little fun. Law is starting to gain Internet legend. I know a lot of people want to see him play badly because of the Sanders comparisions that spread around a few weeks back. He'll get his shot.

.

I kept telling people to watch Garmon's high school videos. Then ran him basically exclusively on sweeps from a wing position off the end of the line. He just has no experience running from a deep single back or I formation.

It takes time to develop the vision that is necessary to succeed from back there. I don't seem to understand why people didn't think this would be an issue. Give him a year to learn how to read zone blocking and you will see a totally different back.

Garmon is going to get carries, we can't have Damon carrying the ball too much like yesterday in the big ten. The turf in soldier field hurt Garmon because he couldn't move or cut as well.

Good thing that we also run the shotgun ace formation when Garmon is in then.

you should get ahold of the staff and let them know what your observations are. do you have access to them? please don't delay - the season is on the brink...

In Iowa's offense that still means he will be getting the ball behind the line of scrimmage and have to read interior line blocking.

But, don't take my word for it. Watch [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igPzlaitekk"]THE HIGHLIGHTS[/ame]

Notice how he actually is running reverses most of the time and moving before the ball is snapped? Basically, he was Percy Harvin (at Florida) for his team.

There isn't one instance on the entire reel where he has to be patient to let a hole develop in the interior line and then accelerate through the hole. That is what Iowa backs need to do.

I think the coaches know this, but really don't have any other options and understand that the only way for him to learn is to drill it in him in practice and in limited game opportunities. The problem with this Iowa team is that they don't have a Paki, Schnoor, or even Bromley to go to if Bullock gets hurt.

Normally you would want to RS Garmon while he learns the position and gets a bit stronger, but they don't have that luxury.

Honestly, where would we all be without your insight?

I'll grant you this one, but seriously, it seems like half your posts are of the "I was the first to say/see/think this" variety. Get over yourself.

garmon will be a situational guy used for his homerun ability but it looks like they need to lean on bullock. weismann looked good but i didnt see anything that was better than rogers plus rogers has the experience. when brad is healthy he will play over him. i think they have to go to law as i think donatell really struggled and was overwhelmed.

Agreed. Maybe KF and staff should have watched how Alabama uses power backs.

Just don't know where Rogers is health wise.

I would say the same thing with Nolan MacMillan.

Just think where the Iowa line would be if MacMillan had never had the sports hernia.

He would be a junior, starting his third season and on all conference lists.

Problem with that health issue is it is really a condition, not an injury.
