What is the next level?

Its when you routinely beat teams that you are supposed to beat. When you expect to win a conference championship... when you actually do win your conference championship 3-5 times in a decade.

The next level is not losing to NW 5 out of the last 6...

The next level is not losing to a team because you are playing in another time zone.

The next level is not beating a 4-6 Indiana team only because they cant catch a game winning TD pass

The next level is not having to block two FG to hold on against UNI

The next level is not 54yds rushing and 171 total against Minn last year

The next level is not hanging on against Ark State after giving up a 68 yd 17 play 8 minute drive in the 4th quarter.

hey only eleven teams have a better record since 2001, thats good enough....stop asking for more

The next level is going to 2 BCS games in 8 years. The next level is consistently winning bowl games (5-3). The next level is winning the Big Ten (2 championships). The next level is ending the year in the top 10. The next level is having a chance to win the Big Ten in your last 2-3 games.

The next level is being held to a standard in which everything done on the field is examined on a pedistal and no matter what happens week in and week out its never enough. Similar to Texas, Florida, and Alabama right now (minus the championships) where anything less than competing for a championship in the eyes of a fan base is unacceptable.

Ha ha, it almost seems like we are there already. And if we are not, im not sure i want to be there.

wow, we do NOT always beat the teams that we are supposed to "routinely" beat. Today's game and our history against Northwestern proves that to be completely wrong.

I agree with the posts about stating we've been to this many BCS games, won this many conference championship games...blah blah... but maybe if we're so "great" can we make the adjustment to beat Northwestern?

Couldn't agree with you more about not being so sure about wanting to be there. Sad part is that I remember listening to everyone making fun of ISU fans last week for standing behind their team after a loss to Nebraska, but to be honest, I'm more impressed by them then I am by our fan base at this point in the season.

You obviously didnt see them get trounced by Colorado today.

And you've just cemented your reclamation of DBag Poster of the Day.

There is no defense to losing to an inferior opponent, as Iowa does far too often. As we have now done 5 of 6 times to Northwestern.

My post really has nothing to do with losing to NW. I wish you knew what you were responding too. You seem lost...
