What if...

1. We lose to PSU, but beat NW (and win the rest) to finish 7-2, and

2. NW wins all the rest of their games except against Iowa to finish 7-2, and

3. Wisconsin wins all the rest of their games except NW to finish 7-2

How does a three way tie breaker work if all 3 teams are 1-1 against each other?

ah hah, now you are starting to see why I wanted jNW to lose yesterday to get those little whiny ratcats down in the standings.

So based on what I just read, it would get to the 7th tie breaker, which is best overall win %, which would be us at 10-2....

Actually, we have a better shot in a 3 team tie breaker than we do in Wisky losing 3 conference games...

We are in trouble I think because of 3 team tiebreaker #5 which compares records of non-divisional opponents. Currently, NW is leading on that. Just looking at total wins of nondivisional opponents so far, its NW opponents 6, Wiscy opponents 5 and Iowa opponents 4. It didn’t help MSU beat PSU.

Our best scenario is probably Wiscy loses to NW or Purdue and also loses to PSU. We have 1 remaining loss and beat NW and Purdue. That way we have a better record than Wiscy but win a two team tiebreaker with NW. OR just win out and we have a 90%+ chance.

the first step is "1. The records of the three tied teams will be compared against each other." And jNW loses out in this case as Iowa only has 2 losses and Iowa wins out against Wisky as they would have 3 overall losses to Iowas 2.

Wisky could lose 2 more pretty easy with games at NW, PSU and Purdue

I am not sure they can win at Minny

It looks like Hornibrook had the game of his life agaisnt Iowa and maybe Iowa needed to try some more blitzes to put pressure on Hornibrook

Its confusing how they word that, but it doesn't mean total record. It means record against the other 2 teams. All 3 teams would be 1-1 in this scenario. That tie breaker would only help if one of the 3 teams were 2-0 against the other two.

Also keep in mind this in the 3 way tie scenario of Iowa, Wisconsin, NW All finishing 7-2 and 1-1 against each other. If NW is somehow eliminated first by these procedures and it leaves Iowa and Wisconsin still tied, it automatically goes back to the head to head to determine the winner.

Basically Iowa can’t win a tiebreaker against just Wisconsin, if it’s a 3 or 4 team tie, Iowa will have to own wins against those other tied teams and need Wisconsin to get eliminated in the tiebreaker procedures prior to it getting just to the two of them

Holiday Bowl. Get an exciting victory over a Pac-12 squad this year. Expect something special in 2019. Too much to ask for? Probably. But that is where my head is at.

10-2 likely gets Iowa a New Years 6 bowl, probably Fiesta against a UCF type of opponent
