In comment, KF doesn't operate in What If's. He is concise and predictable....mostly. Though he does amaze me (which is contradictory. He has had an amazing number of almosts which were within grasp were it not for other aspects of his coaching getting in the way.
The conflicting argument is that the coaches who could have rode the almosts wouldn't have been as predictable and maybe would have gone all the way or almost all the way. Those types of coaches at Iowa may have crashed and burned along the way.
