What Happens Sunday and When?

Anybody have any idea what will happen Sunday and when? I haven't heard that there will be that (utterly ridiculous) 3-4 hr. selection show - with bowls involving Iowa added near the tail end. But something has to happen.

We’ll be ok.

Have some eggs and coffee and let it ride.

It’s 2020, every game we get is a gift. Don’t sweat it.

No doubt. Imo, it is about getting Petras as many reps as possible. If he is going to be the dude moving forward(which I think he will be)2021 starts now. This year the opponent and the bowl game itself doesn’t matter.

I think Iowa winds up in the Music City bowl. Indiana not playing against Purdue I think cost them a chance at a NY6 game, which pushes everyone down a slot. That kicks Iowa out of Florida with Indiana and Northwestern getting the Citrus and Outback.

I can’t see the committee taking Northwestern, especially not over Indiana. That loss to MSU was flat out ugly.

I sure hope they don’t put us through a long ass selection show to find out. There is only so much $EC ass sucking I can take.

I don't see that at all. If they kick out Indiana, they put in Northwestern. That much I will guarantee you. NO WAY the B1G gets just 1 bid in the national semis and the NY6.
This isn't your typical year and the Big Ten is missing big names like Pedo State and Michigan being in consideration for the NY6. We are talking Northwestern and Indiana here. So far I've looked at 4 projections, 2 ESPN writers and Jerry Palm, none of them have the Big Ten getting a NY6 bowl bid outside of Ohio State in the semi's. All 3 have Iowa in the Music City playing either Tennessee or Kentucky. Athlon has Iowa in the Outback but not because of another team getting a NY6 bowl bid, they have Iowa jumping Northwestern with the Cats going to the Mayo Bowl.

I am okay with Iowa/Kentucky. Most years I think the practice/reps thing gets overplayed, but this year I think it is important(especially for Iowa). Give me the Mark Stoops tie-in and I am good.

I disagree. I think Iowa beats out both teams in bowl bids, we all know bowls are more about “intriguing matchups” and dollars, and Iowa is a much bigger brand than IU or jNW. At the very least I think there is a much greater chance o IU and Iowa getting Florida bids with Northwestern dropping to the Music City than Iowa landing there.

I just looked at a projection from Athlon that agreed with this thinking.

But I don't know, in a typical season where the chambers are looking to sell the most tickets and pack their bars/restaurants/hotels then I'd agree with this line of thinking. But without that I'm not sure Iowa is a much bigger brand than either Northwestern or Indiana if we are just looking at TV ratings.
