What % do we have 2 TE & a fullback

Loved Galloway stepping up for Iowa but tired of hearing over n over Iowa is 2 TE n a fullback.

Not sure that stat is available. I believe we have 2WR n 1 TE as the biggest % of plays. 3rd n long is normally 1 back or no back. I'm sure on short yardage we do run 2 TE a fair %.

2 TE's and a FB would be 22 personnel and like you said, I don't think we're running that a ton (should have it away much earlier in the Indiana game this weekend if you ask me). I think more than anything they say that just because it help fit the narrative...

I would be interested to see the stats as well...I would speculate we might run 12 personnel (single back, 2 TE's) quite a bit on "normal" downs. I haven't paid that much attention this year, but even when we go empty it's usually with an 11 personnel package with our TE in the slot to the trips side and the RB in the slot to the twins side.

The one place you can occasionally see formation breakdown is the Gazette and Morehouse. I think they're usually in his StatPak, a Monday-ish column.

Here is his post-NW:

As you would expect, Iowa’s top two personnel groups were heavy with 12 (two TEs, one back) and 21 (two backs, one TE) tying with 22 calls each. (Of course, 21 was de facto “victory formation” with the second offense impressively holding together for an 11-play drive that drained the final 6:04 off the clock.

Next probably won’t surprise you, either. Iowa ran a lot of 11 (one back, one TE) out of shotgun (20 plays). A lot of that is CJB’s leg injuries, but a lot of it, too, is it’s the formation CJB prefers. I asked once, and he said he digs shotgun (not sure the personnel mattered as much to him as “get open”).

When you have TEs like the hawks have, who cares if we run 2 TEs and a single back or a fullback. Friggin NE Patriots run a ton of 2 TEs. Before Aaron Hernandez decided to go all homicidal they had two great TEs who could run all over the field.

Coble is not a super deep threat but Kittle and Duzey if he were healthy this year could really stretch the field.

It isnt the formation it is the athletes you have and how you use them.

The hawks are almost always in a formation to threathen power run and with Wadley and Canzeri there are two backs, that can go the distance, and both Daniels and Mitchell can gouge for 20 to 40 yards given the opening.
