Long, Vlasic, and Stanzi are the 3 hawk QBs who had more than a cup or coffee or a smell in the NFL. Over 30 years.

Braxton Miller, Cardale Jones, and JT Barrett will all play in the pros and they are on the same team at the same time. This is crazy and just shows where the hawks are and have been. Hartlieb and a couple of others may have been in the pros for a very short time, I cant remember.

But it could be that KF just needs to start taking a chance and a flyer on some players with great athletic skills. Get some speed even if they are the best passer and try to coach them up,

Rodgers was on the Bills practice squad when they went to the 1993 super bowl. Hartlieb was something like a 12round pick to the oilers and cut in camp. Vandy a free agent that lasted the same amount of time as Hartlieb. OSU has had the best talent in the B1G for almost as long as they've been playing fb
 
Braxton Miller won't sniff the NFL as a quarterback.

But besides that you're right, Iowa isn't in the same class as Ohio State. Outside of a season or two here or there they've never been in that class.
 
If I remember correctly the Iowa coaches were full court pressing Jones up until the end.

It is not that the coaches don't go after these athletes, it is just hard to imagine that many teams could out recruit OSU for them.

I blame our boosters for not being as active as the Buckeyes' boosters.

Not one of those OSU QBs will start and have a good NFL career. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have all 3, but they aren't going to light the NFL on fire.

I don't about that..Jones has a great arm and can extend plays.Hard to pull down like BigBen. I think he could be an impact player in the NFL. People laughed when I said that I would take Russel Wilson as my qb..Everyone one said he was too small.
 
o$u is overrated Another interesting trivia question. What has Iowa accomplished that no NFL team has? Iowa is undefeated vs Ben Roethlisberger 3-0!
 
OSU isn't handicapped by having a head coach named Ferentz. For the most part Hayden Fry had quarterbacks who could go toe to toe with OSU quarterbacks.

Russell Wilson by all accounts has a high IQ.

I'll just leave it at that.
 
I would not underestimate the three osu qbs in the pros. Barrett was throwing the ball great. Granted the windows are much smaller in the NFL but have you seen some of the QBs playing and starting on teams such as the titans, Jets, etc etc.

I would say the problem is there is a shortage of competent NFL QBs.

And as someone said Hayden Fry the old QB himself knew how to coach them up and knew how to recruit them.

Oh, I was gonna guess that Barrett threw as many TDs to Iowa players as Stanzi, Long and Vlasic did.
