What a terrible effort

This team checked out and gave up in the second half and that's a fact. They looked utterly uninterested and embarrassed themselves, and the university at home.

The coaches didn't help the players either because this offensive game plan was awful. No drives to the hoop to draw fouls, and not getting the ball down low.

Just really disappointed and angry at the players and the coaches right now. No reason they should have lost this way and no ready they should have given up the way they did.

No heart at all out there. None.

Iowa wasn't contesting three point shoots either and looked really flat footed. Lots of sloppy passes and poor shot selection as well tonight.

They just looked like they gave up. Really sad considering the crowd was there and into it early.

The first sign of trouble and these guys just folded up their tent and went home. I'd love to hear Fran call his players out tonight because 80% of that loss tonight was on them.

One of the big reasons ISU had that 23-4 run was because Iowa couldn't shoot so they packed it inside - yet we kept trying to force feed it down there.

When you just can't score eventually the defense will fold - its just that simple.

You need to have hope that your defensive efforts will give you a chance to win - but when you know that you can't score on offense then mentally eventually its over with.

When your guard play is terrible and your shooting is worse you are not going to win many games at all, anybody who thought this was even an average team is in for a major let down this year as this team will not even go .500 in the BIG...Fran can't coach and he can't recruit, was a terrible hire when it happened and has not got any better.

I don't understand how White and Woody can go from being all excited/pumped up and then just go into shell once things go poorly.

Iowa has no real leader and that's a big problem. Someone needed to get in everyone else's face and tell them to wake the hell up. Fran is a much calmer coach now so someone needs to step up and take control out there. Every single Iowa player was hanging their heads when Iowa State got up and there was plenty of game left.

It really just boggles the mind how fragile a team can be. We've seen it happen before on the road in the past but it never should happen at home ever.

They just gave up though. Iowa has hung with and beaten good teams before. It was a close game for a half and then they folded up the first sign of a Iowa State run.

They rolled over tonight and Iowa State was down their best player. Not acceptable and it wasn't all talent.

How Iowa was not motivated tonight is beyond me. Besides the fact it was the clowns, it was a chance at home to beat a rated team. I thought certain Iowa would take advantage of that. Major opportunity wasted.

I never, ever remember any ISU team "toying" with Iowa like that. It became laughable at the horrendous defensive effort and countless uncontested shots. Simply embarrassing ... All the way around.
