I've seen UNI play several games this season and this kid is really good. I know he was a name that popped up for Iowa when he was in high school and when he announced he was leaving Tennessee but I feel like Iowa really missed out on him. He's a good shooter who can slash and drive to the hoop. That's someone Iowa currently doesn't have.

What was the deal with Iowa not getting him? No scholarship available? Not enough interest either way?

He'd be the best guard on the team hands down if he was a Hawk.

Actually, I think, originally, IOWA offered, but Washpun went to Tenn. Then, when he became disillusioned in Knoxville, the easy way back was to transfer to UNI.

From what I read about him, seems like he was a solid 2 star recruit and Fran never really kept up with him until really late in the process. He was going to play for Missouri State and coach Cuonzo Martin, and when Martin left Wes went with him. In his freshman year he struggled to get minutes, basically was 5th or 6th guy off the bench, and his sophomore year wasn't going to be any better if he stayed. He's a lot better now than he was then.

Teammate of Oglesby, I believe. Were they both seniors the same year? That's a pretty loaded team for Iowa HS bb.
