Well, we know what Purdue felt like in 2002

The similarities between the 2002 Purdue game and the Arizona game are eerie:

- we scored in some "unconventional" ways, same as Arizona did
- Purdue's defense controlled us most of the day, the same as we did against Arizona
- we broke a big play at the beginning of our last drive and ultimately scored a TD, the same as Arizona did against us

I guess the old saying, "What goes around comes around" is pretty apropo here.....

I don't know about that but I do know that the game has 3 parts and when you get destroyed in one of them its hard to win.

That '02 Purdue team was way underrated. Led the Big Ten in total offense and total defense and didn't even get a sniff of the league title. Pretty much impossible to do that without some weird, major bounces against you. Let's hope this is the last time we impersonate that team's results.

P.s. they lead the Big Ten that year in the same year that Iowa and OSU were just freaking loaded with talent. And they should have beaten both of those teams. We had our unbelievable special teams/Dallas Clark game, and OSU had the Krenzel 4th and balls-of-steel play. Again, please don't let us be like that.

Oh, and think about this... 8 years after that 2002 game, Iowa and Purdue somehow became most hated rivals. Is that a harbinger for an annual series with AZ? Good God, let's hope not.
