Welcome HawkeyeGameFilm to HN.com: Vandenberg Breakdown

In looking at those splits at the end of the item, JVB certainly was looking middle to right...that's a lot of faith in Riley Reiff ;)

This never gets old

Nice addition to HN, Jon. Good stuff.

One thing I really noticed the last two games was JVB's tendency to lean to the left when he throws. Don't know whether this allows him to get more power behind the pass, much like a baseball pitcher completing a throw, or whether this is a bad habit. It does seem to limit his vision and perhaps the height at which he is throwing passes over oncoming defenders. See the photo from the home page:

Wonder what the coaches view of this and whether they are working to get him to throw from more of an upright position.

i'd like to take some credit on getting this going, but i had nothing to do with it other than suggestion. so, i'll just say smart move jon, and welcome aboard gamefilm!

Good stuff and I agree that it's a great addition to the site.

This is my first time reading HawkeyeGameFilm. Has he done the "+1, -1 grading system" in years past?

I would be interested to know some of the highest or lowest numbers of QBs in past games/years.

I've seen this work done before on TOS (hawkeyeinsider) in previous years, not a call out Jon, just clarifying that is where you got the idea. I like when users of this site use there own ingenuity & effort into additions to forums.

Very nice. Expert analysis. Looking forward to more from HawkeyeGameFilm....

Excellent, Jon, should add a few more views from everyone.

Stanzi against Indiana in '09 was an absolute disaster. I had'm at -5 in that game. Had him at +5 for the Orange bowl game against Georgia Tech. I had Stanzi at +6 for Ball St for '10. Michigan St was a +7 game which I'm fairly sure is his best game by my count.

JVB came out +2-3 against OSU in '09. Was -5 for Minnesota in '09 though.
