1:00 PM (CBS) - #5 Mich St @ Indiana
1:15 PM (BTN) - Penn St @ Illinois

Sunday Jan. 5th

11:00 AM (BTN) - NW @ Michigan
1:30 PM (BTN) - Purdue @ Minnesota
7:00 PM (BTN) - #22 Iowa @ #4 Wisconsin

Decent weekend for the B1G. Best game is clearly Iowa/Wisc. MSU/IU could be good and I'm interested to see how PUR/MINN goes.

Here is what I think Vegas will set the lines at... not that I agree...

Ohio St -15
Indiana +4
Illinois -7
Michigan -19.5?
Minnesota -4
Wisconsin -3.5

Pick's from ESPN's Myron Medcalf...

No. 5 Michigan State at Indiana, 2 p.m. ET, CBS: The young Hoosiers rumbled with Illinois earlier this week and played well throughout the tough loss. Yogi Ferrell is clearly one of the best players in the league. And freshman Noah Vonleh is one of the most complete players in the country. But the Hoosiers committed 23 turnovers in that game. They’re currently committing turnovers on 22.1 percent of their possessions, 325[SUP]th[/SUP] in the country, per Ken Pomeroy. And that clip will prove costly against an experienced Michigan State team that might be the best squad in the Big Ten. But the Spartans won’t crush the Hoosiers at Assembly Hall. It will be tight.

Prediction: Michigan State 77, Indiana 75

No. 22 Iowa at No. 4 Wisconsin, 8 p.m. ET, BTN: This could be the year that Iowa backs the hype and reaches the NCAA tournament. Maybe the Hawkeyes will make a serious run at the Big Ten title, too. Fran McCaffery’s squad is the deepest team that Iowa has had in years. But the only way to contend for the Big Ten crown is to win critical road games. And Iowa’s first conference road trip might be its toughest road trip of the season. Wisconsin is a beast. It’s that simple. The Badgers defend well (they held Northwestern to 14 first-half points on Thursday) and they’re also athletic and versatile. And remember those perennial concerns about Wisconsin’s offense? The Badgers are 10[SUP]th[/SUP] in adjusted offensive efficiency, per Ken Pomeroy.

Prediction: Wisconsin 76, Iowa 72

I don't think this really tells us that much about Wisconsin. They are typically very efficient on offense; hell, they were in the top 20 two years ago (tied for 261st in scoring) and third (while finishing the year ranked in a tie for 190th in scoring) the year before that. Last year, they weren't as good, but it's not like being in the top 10 in adjusted efficiency is shocking for Wisconsin.

I'll admit their offense looks a lot better, but adjusted efficiency isn't the reason for it.

You have 5 picks but there are 6 games.

My picks were ATS by the way. I don't think NW will win @ Michigan but I think they can keep it within 20.

Indiana should be a bigger dog and Mich a lesser favorite (but there is still no way I'd bet on the Mich/NW game).

I forgot that Mich will likely sit GR3 so I think the line should now be -17 (NW is real, real bad).

Lines for Saturday are out...

OSU opened -18, now -17
Indiana opened +1.5, now +2.5
Illinois opened -8, still -8

MN seems to be a paper pre season tiger, gimme Purdue. I'll take the Hawks too cause dang it, they have to break through with a big win one of these days.
