We won, that’s all.

This was one of those games we were suppose to win. It sure beats a loss to that thorn in our side Northwestern.

Defense looked very solid and the offense looked like our typical mediocre offense. We will take the win though.

As bad as Wisky has looked against Illinois and then getting pummeled by Ohio State I still think our offense is weak and will struggle against them. If our defense plays their best game of the season and scores twice that is the only way I see us winning this game.

The key to beating wiscy, and there's no way around this is tyler goodson getting the majority of the snaps. Illinois beat them by having their fast running backs, who aren't like all big ten by any stretch, just blasting through the holes on right side before they closed. Wirfs is our best run blocker, they have holes on the left side of their run defense, and goodson can hit the holes. Assuming the ankle is good in two weeks, we need to pound that right side with goodson all game. that's what Illinois did and they couldn't stop it. OSU is another animal but the common denominator was speed to hit the holes.

I think they then may win the west??!!
I cant believe I just said that...

Lol, it just doesn’t sound right no matter how you say it. I see at least two more losses coming their way and with a few breaks and the Kinnick advantage maybe three.

You guys get that this IS our offense right? Wiscy will beat is by 35.

You know I am hoping that this doesn’t happen but would not be shocked if it does. Any body have Illinois beating them? Their confidence can’t be beaming with the back to back losses. Why ruin a good thing? Keep their streak going.

I am high on this kid and just don’t understand why the ball isn’t in his hands more often. I don’t see to many linebackers covering him on short passes. He is small to take a constant pounding at the line but I would t be afraid to do it several times. He is our most gifted running back at this point. BrIan needs to get the ball in his hands and come up with different ways to do that.

It’s interesting what the mind can make people see. From what I am hearing many Oklahoma fans are saying that during the onside kick the ball went over ten yards before it was touched.

THEY REALLY BELIEVE that they got shafted on that play, and yet video proved the ball sharply bounced off of their player before it went over ten yards.

It was a game Iowa was supposed to win and they did. They weren't perfect. Offense was just ok. Defense was dominating. Punting game looked like a smoking pile of you know what.

But while Northwestern's offense was horrible, their defense wasn't bad. Their defensive numbers are skewed by having to play Stanford, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Ohio State etc.

Iowa's offense handled most of the blitzes. Started to develop a run game and actually made it into the end zone twice. Granted one of the TD's was aided by some bad tackling by Northwestern. But it was a better show than we've seen in a few weeks.

Northwestern is a perfect example of how important the QB position is. They have had a string of pretty good QBs and have been very competitive. Now that they don't they are brutually bad.

Yep, With a decent quarterback Northwestern is in contention for the top half of the Big Ten West. They had a few injury issues as well, down a couple wide receivers and defensive linemen. Their linebackers are very good, with a decent defensive backfield. Their defensive and offensive lines are serviceable.

Sargent will get most of the carries against Wisconsin. We have seen this broken record all season
