We need to find shooters or shooters to step up.

We had a major defensive lapse at the end of the season- however there is one glaring problem with this team.

It was a bigger problem last year - but we played better defense over all last year.

We can't consistently score... last nights game was an example of what often happens to us.

We go into huge scoring droughts and if we are not getting fouled we can't score.

I'm too lazy to do a statistical check right now but I remember posting something earlier this year that really showed the trend.

When we make outside shots we win... and often comfortably.

Until we can either get guys confident or find other shooters were going to have the same problem.

Maybe with Josh 0, Jok and some of the new guys we can become a more balanced team that opens the floor.

That's got to happen next year if we are going to move forward.

Utoff and White both will be better next year. I think Gessell will also. I do agree when we shoot well we win. That's BB

Some teams can get away with shooting bad now and then because they are great on defense... however we are not that currently.

Ill give you Uthoff, Gesell too as hopefully being better. Aaron White is who he is and he will be the same player a year from now.

Agree on White. Not sure why some people think he will all of a sudden thrive if he plays at the four spot more. He doesn't have a jumper and we've seen what happens to him when an opponent gets physical with him, he just disappears.

He thrived his frosh yr as a 4. I think he will play more consistently as a 4 than as a 3. I don't think he is ever a true go to guy but being a solid and consistent score that can be counted on in every game is where I think he can be and he can be that working 15 ft and in. But to do that he needs to be a 4.

His numbers this year were better almost across the board than his freshman year and I'm guessing most people don't feel like he thrived at 3, so still not sure why he's going to be so much improved next season if he plays the 4 more.

If you look at his stats per 40 min he actually scored more points as a frosh and had same number of rebounds.nactually if you look at his per 40 min stats he has not gotten better through his 3 yrs but is exactly the same player. With that knowledge I wouldn't expect much advancement from him and would rather see him at the 4 and have a better ball handler and scoring threat from deep at the 3.

His offensive efficiency went from 111.6 as a freshman to 122.7 this year, his TS% from 57.6 freshman year to 66.0 this season, his FTRate from 53.0 as a freshman to 65.7 this year, his defensive rebounding percentage is up from 17.9% as a freshman to 19.0% this year, his assist rate went from 7.7 as a freshman to 12.2 this season. Like I said, his numbers this year are better almost across the board, so if you think he thrived at the 4 spot his freshman year not sure how you can't say he didn't thrive at the 3.

I think he is what he is at this point, a very good garbage and transition player who should be a fourth offensive option on a really good team.

And for the last 1/3 of this season he ended up seeing more and more minutes at the 4. I am now looking at it that if he plays the 4 it would allow us to put a true three on the court with him. We need some one that handles the ball better and shoots the 3 better. Uthoff fits that...jok would fit that...maybe even uhl would fit that (don't know much about the recruits)...in fact I would rather see oglesby at the 3 than white. So I look at the fact that his per 40 min stats haven't really gotten better through the change so move him back and try to get a better shooter/ball handler at the 3. I phrased off his stats but I think we can gain more from moving him to the 4 and playing someone else at the 3 than leaving him as the 3 and finding a new 4.

I can agree with this, I think playing him at 3 does hurt our spacing as teams don't have to worry about him from the perimeter and when we don't have a scoring threat at pg, the court can become awfully small which no doubt leads to some of our long scoring droughts. I don't expect White to be anything more than what he is right now, whether he plays the 3 or the 4, I don't see that changing. I'd like to see more shooters on the court as well and hopefully Dickerson can be an explosive guard who can create for others and finish at the rim, something this team is lacking going into next year.
