We are no longer a team

We are simply a collection of players going thru the motions.

In all my 30 yrs of watching Hawkeye basketball, I've never seen anything like this.

There is no life, no passion, no communication, no encouragement, no anger, no happiness...just apathy and what appears to be an outright quitting by the players.

Something has obviously happened that has nothing to do with skill, talent, or basketball in general. Between our tough win at Penn State and the game against Wisconsin something occurred that splintered the team. Go back and watch the highlights against our OT win against Xavier and guys were zoned in, chest bumping and playing like a team. Same thing in our outright demolition of Michigan. We may never know what it was, but it's apparent to even the most casual of observers that this collection of players (I'm not going to call them a team) is splintered and no longer enjoys playing with each other.

Simply unbelievable!

Remember how often announcers used to comment on how well we played as a team? Man that was a long time ago.

The sad thing for the players is that they will look back and regret it. When they are old like me, they will look at this year and say, "damn, we had all the pieces to make a final four run, but we were too immature to look past our petty issues to work towards our goal."

That said, they are kids. It is the coaches' job to help them get out of their own way and perform.

I just hope everyone learns from this and comes back focused next year.

Haha the players... Clearly they don't give a crap, so at this point why should I?

That is the biggest disappointment. Nothing, nothing to spark anything. You either recruited poorly or coached poorly. It is not the players.
